So as you might guess, I typed the lead post in this thread at speed immediately after the conversation I had with Cubed!

Key points are;

The 18 people we’ve taken on since 28/3, and the 7 more they’re taking on this week, are JUST for the Production Operatives (nights) position. If they run with the weekend staffing, there’ll be another 60.

This does not include all the other “multiple” position vacancies Cubed have recently listed for quality control, warehousing, software engineers etc, or for the higher level Director or Project Mgmt roles we’ve seen be appointed over the last 2 months.

The person I spoke to could not have been more exuberant about the company or it’s prospects, which I accept is natural given his job is to get people to work there!

I posted something earlier under the thread title "Conversation with Cubed" but for some reason it is not appearing on the board. You can see the post by looking at my posting history. I hope you find it as interesting as I did, and that whatever glitch LSE are experiencing gets fixed and the post magically appears on the board.

I called Cubed this PM to enquire about the Production Operatives Jobs, and this is what I was told;-Cubed have been working with the company for a year.-When they started working with the company they had 50 employees. They now have 255!! That's over 200 more in one year.-They said that they had been commissioned by the govt to produce the ABC-19 test - so definitely Abingdon-They have already taken on 18 people (started 28 March) for the night shifts, and are taking on 7 more this week. -The original temporary contracts for night and weekend work was expected to be for 3 months, but the expectation is that they will roll (and continue to roll) on a 3 month basis to serve demand-3 of the 18 people they took on in March on temporary contracts have already been made permanentOvertime is available, and they pay £100 bonus for accurate timekeeping. "They are throwing money at staff"The company is "one of the best we have worked with, by a mile"They have not yet taken on any weekend staff, but are still waiting to here if this will proceed. If it does, they are looking to take 60 people. You heard it - 60!Finally, they said there has been a lot of investment in the last couple of months (although I suspect that might relate to the placing).They are expanding sites in York and Doncaster.Now, I have seen people on BB's post things like this before, ie purported e-mail text with companies or records of conversations with companies, and I have always been dubious. I am the only one who can vouch, 100%, for everything I have said above but if anyone doesn't believe me then all you have to do is call the Cubed and do the same thing I did.GLA

Perhaps, although we seem to be caught in the middle of that rather than guilty of any wrongdoing.

It’s worth noting this again from the interims published 9 March, coincidentally just before our recruitment drive really kicked in...

Anyone else baffled by the lack of volume here...?

I cannot think of any reason why we would be recruiting at the very high levels we have over the last couple of months, focussing on 24/7 production, QA, warehousing, IT and project mgmt, unless we had (or have a really good expectation of having) really large orders to fill.

Any news on this front then volume will spike, we should get the seller out, and the SP should pop. This is particularly so given the low free float and ongoing lock ins.

All imho.

We are a steal at this SP.

@glr - you asked earlier in this thread about how certain we could be that the ads posted by Cubed related to Abingdon, well it seems Cubed have built (or are still building) an entire section of their website dedicated to its strategic partnership with ABDX.

None of this covers all the adverts Cubed have placed since 12 March, when I started looking. So since Jan we have been appointing Directors, Department Heads, and recruiting heavily towards 24/7 production.

Of note is how he describes himself

Let that sink in... we’ve just appointed a Guy to lead Project Management with expertise in launching product in multiple territories.

This is another interesting looking appointment - Head of Project Management, appointed THIS MONTH having spent over 8 years managing projects at Qiagen.

Seems to me you don’t leave a career at multinational like Qiagen for a much smaller company like ABDX without very good reason. And of course, there must be a project (and you would think a big one) for him to manage!

For us, the key point from AVCT presentation just finished is that whilst the final architecture for the AVCT test was undertaken with GAD, and GAD have been the ones producing the tests for trials to date, tech transfer is currently underway to ABDX (and BBI).
