The review pretty much mirrors others we saw from other reviews earlier this year, and of course anyone posting reviews are likely to be a little disgruntled.

But one phrase stood out for me - “the ridiculous workload”.

I wonder what that might be for.

I don’t know what volume of the HIV kit that ABDX manufactured, but I don’t think it will be significant and certainly nothing like the manufacturing scale required for C19 tests.

I suppose there might be wider questions like whether or not Biosure have illegally used the IP and trade secrets of other test developers when developing any of their other tests, or whether the arbitration award combined with the loss of product might put Biosure out of business such that we get no further manufacturing orders from them for anything at all. In this respect I see that 3 of the 5 Biosure Directors were either sacked or resigned on 9/11, a week before the arbitration decision was made.

But to be honest, our real shot in goal comes with AVCT and Vatic, where the manufacturing requirements could be significant. Indeed, we’ve already been told that significant purchase orders have been made by both.

So I’m not really concerned, but of course that’s just my opinion!

I see that on Thursday SSE announced that they will invest £12.5bn by 2026, to accelerate progress towards net zero. That’s up 65% on their previous plan.

We’re already involved in one major project with them - with this kind of funding commitment I wonder how many more there might be!

I can’t see they would be so brazen unless they expected to pay for what they bought!!

No idea what’s changed in the terms but, whatever, they seem far more favourable to Avacta than to any supplier of products or services they buy from. That reeks of confidence within AVCT to me…the terms might as well read “you really are so lucky to have us as a purchaser”!

Well, my optimistic side hopes there is something very secret squirrel and magnificent going on beyond the scenes to explain why all these sales and marketing experts have been doing zip for 5 months.

Straight through to voicemail every time you call. Their online chat facility says there’s nobody online. The social media ouput from the company has been non existent since July, and equally quiet is the output from all their “business development consultants”.

Yet they appointed another Director at the beginning of October, this month they’ve registered Meduflow as a trademark and attended Medica, and LinkedIn would suggest none of the staff have left.

I really don’t know what to make of it…

Re the Mologic video, there’s nothing in it specifically about AffiDx or Avacta, but about 32 mis in they start talking about pipeline tests, one of which is a saliva Ag test. Given all the work AVCT did on saliva sampling, I did wonder if that could have something to do with us…

But of course, there’s nothing to substantiate that…

Maybe, who knows!

On 9/11 Mologic posted a video on Twitter of a presentation they made to representatives from African countries. It deals primarily with their test, which they’re calling Covios, but also with GAD manufacturing capability and work streams.

Interesting to see the bio of the primary author, Ramzi Ajjan, who says “ A large part of my work is currently focussed on reducing incorporation of antifibrinolytic proteins into the clot, using a novel technology that involves conformational small peptides termed Affimers”.

He currently has a number of founders, including Avacta.

I posted it simply to further demonstrate the wide areas of affimer application, and it seems to me that diabetic and other bleeding disorder therapeutics is a pretty big market!

Just to add further on this, see paras 3.1.3, and 3.2 (published today) which demonstrate the potential for affimer use in reducing thrombotic risk for diabetics, and in therapeutics for other bleeding disorders.
