Does anyone know which one we are using? I’m assuming AEMPS in Spain.

It seemed strange today. For large parts of the day I couldn’t get a sell quote for any volume (not that I’m selling!), yet the MM’s maintained the bid at 0.11 instead of dropping it. Any thoughts anyone?

I called and left a message with SP lunchtime. They (Rees)just called back and;

-Apologised for not coming back sooner, but they had been on calls with the MHRA all day.

-Their service is test agnostic, a term which the MHRA don’t like apparently.

-Their service works with the free govt tests but, should they be unavailable, they can provide tests through their sister company who “manufacture their own test and distribute others”

-I asked whether those tests can be used from home. He said that one of them is professional use……and one is for self testing. I couldn’t get more detail (he was in the pub following the long day with MHRA!)

-They want to arrange a demo for me, but can’t do Monday because they are flat out (with MHRA?)

I’ve tried here to tell it exactly how it was. FWIW, he did not seem to suggest that M19 were making our test, but I cannot see that the M19 RSPT has been authorised for home use and, consequently, his clear explanation that one of the M19 tests had home use approval was a little exciting, to say the least.

Note 14, right at the end of the accounts looks interesting. Confirms IPO expected Q1 22, but also a £50m capital commitment by GEM Global Yield LLC…

Not sure how relevant this is, but I see Georgina filed a “re-issued” annual report for the period to April 20 with companies house on 23/11/21.

Agree. The fund raise is a shame and would have been wholly unnecessary but for the DHSC non payment. But we have a great pipeline of work and are well positioned for a rapidly expanding LFT market generally.

We will drop today for sure, but That should just be short term pain in my view.

“The Company has made recent progress in relation to two projects involving scale-up and technical transfer to manufacture. Avacta plc's AffiDX(R) SARS-CoV-2 antigen lateral flow test is being validated to allow commercial product to be manufactured and released by Abingdon Health. Avacta have indicated that they may require the Company to produce between one and two million tests per month. The transfer process, which involves scale-up of processes and manufacture of three production-scale manufacturing runs, is progressing well and due for completion in this calendar year. A significant order for post-technical transfer production has been received from Avacta.

The Vatic KnowNow(TM) rapid antigen test, is a UK designed test developed by Vatic Health Limited ("Vatic"), and will be manufactured by Abingdon Health. An initial purchase order has been received for 600,000 tests and Vatic have previously stated that demand could reasonably increase to two million tests per month and ultimately reach 100 million per annum.”

Whatever the reason for non payment, I think we should be confident that payment will be forthcoming, and relatively soon.

We know that on 9/11 “both parties signed a non-binding heads of agreement which would, if concluded, lead to the outstanding monies being substantially collected and resolve all outstanding disputes with DHSC.”

For me, that means that all significant matters have been agreed with only smaller details to be finalised. You would not expect negotiation on those details to take long. If I’m right, then once all matters are agreed, the final agreement does, as a matter of law, become legally binding once signed by both parties, and that final binding agreement will stipulate a payment deadline, eg within “x” days.

And as the prelims RNS made clear, if the DHSC cough up then we have no going concern or other funding issues.

The basic answer is I don’t know for certain, but I strongly suspect that “card format” is like a dipstick and is cheaper to produce. Works in the same way through capillary action along a membrane, but has no plastic housing. “Foiled device format” would just be the same thing, just in the plastic housing.

That’s why suggestions that Medusa 19 have built capacity to put the “cards” in the plastic is interesting. In other words, we can make so much of the full product, but also supply more of the card to Medusa to make more. If that’s true then there would be potential for us to profit on both formats with AFFIDX. I’m sorry, but I have no idea which format is most profitable to ABDX.

It’s worth remembering what our CEO said in the Prelim Results RNS..

“we have invested heavily in expanding our manufacturing facilities in order to meet the growing demand for lateral flow tests, with our current manufacturing capacity now totalling 150 million tests in card format and 85 million foiled device format per year….. the Group is well placed to support our global customers, having expanded the range of COVID-19 rapid tests under manufacture. We now have a range of COVID-19 antigen and antibody lateral flow tests with manufacturing agreements or in the late stages of technical transfer, with our capabilities meaning we are also able to support any changes in product specification in the event of new variants.”

So it seems we could support any test changes to deal with Omicron. Note that AVCT have always said this could be done quickly, and that might only be needed if the current test can’t deal with the variant.

Also worth noting that the AVCT CEO said in their results presentation that ABDX could supply 1-2m tests per month, which could be scaled up if necessary. If that’s all ABDX feels able to commit at the moment then we must be using the significant spare capacity for something else…
