They do have a choice H5O - they could call a default and seek recovery. We all know that’s a real pain, hence why they’ve agreed to extensions, and why I tend to agree they will extend again.

But unless I’m mistaken (could easily be the case), the credit Alpha advanced was not their money, but rather money from punters that invested through them. If that’s so then those punters were expecting a return of capital after 12 months - by now it could be that they are placing increased pressure on Alpha to get them their money back (despite the 20% annual interest we’re paying).

That’s the whole point Cahus - we should, in my view, have had an RNS by today telling us what on earth the proposals are to sort Alpha. I’m not sending any mixed signals - I just think it’s entirely reasonable for shareholders to want to know and indeed, we should be told.

Honestly, I’d just like to know what the current position is with the debt, particularly Alpha. I don’t like the silence in that respect given today, at least as far as we know, is repayment day. Has it been extended again, and if so on what terms? Are we going to repay, if so how (placing, refinance, diamonds?)

I don't place any particular credibility on exactly how many carats there were, or the value attributed to them at the time ASI. But what does seem clear (at least from the articles) is that Mpofu took our diamonds from the RBZ, before they had been catalogued, and then gave something back. The question remains, therefore - was what he gave back the same as what he took out?

The last time I can find anything about when our diamonds were seen comes from 2010, when the then mining minister, Mpofu, a corrupt guy who hated our then CEO, took them from the RBZ using false documentation and before they had been catalogued ahead of being put in safe deposit…

Apparently they were worth c£18m when he took them. Unless you believe he didn’t get a little light fingered in the week or so he had them, I think you have to wonder what exactly it was that he gave back.

Re my last, should have pointed out that Brazil is by far and away the biggest exporter of poultry in the world.

No problem Bill - I liked that too! I also liked the "Holy Grail" bit in this from the Folium CEO, as well as the fact that there are a number of other tests they are developing and with which I have little doubt we are involved.

Returning to the actual question I asked though, I suppose I’m just struggling to understand why an option holder (who I think from everything I’ve read must be senior within the company) would exercise their option which, according to the last accounts must have been at a far higher exercise price than current SP, 2 weeks prior to the terrible 2/10 news unless they simply had no inkling at the time of the increase to Capex requirement or the associated construction delay. Perhaps that is in fact the truth of it, but if so it just seems odd to me.

Am researching this at the mo and have been wondering who it was that exercised their options over 300,000 shares just a couple of weeks or so before the 2/10 RNS? Does anyone know, or have a view? Thanks in advance for any help

Seems to me that the Zim govt have been aligning themselves politically with Russia/China (rather than old white colonionist powers), whilst at the same time have domestic pressures to ensure mineral wealth is fed into the local communities.

Anjin appear to be doing what they can to position themselves at the front of the queue should more mining opportunities arise.
