RE: copper price effect on finance options10 Aug 2022 10:26
DVH,
Yes good news, however, I don’t think you can use the basis of a constantly changing copper price for whether or not you will go ahead or you won’t. If the mine is viable, it will be so at whatever the price is at any particular time and price will be built into any plans going forward, ie low end and high end.
The only drawback I see with low copper prices is financing, some may feel now is not the right time to commit, however if the mine is truly viable then I don’t really see an issue. Once up and running and variables in the copper price will be absorbed in the budgets, we know for sure the price will go up but we also know the price can and will be volatile.
Then we have the gold to consider?
We need a bit of luck now, something we have been lacking, to move this forward as I say financing is now key, once sorted and announced the sp will not be trading at these lows.
CB was bullish in that interview imo, inferring he wouldn’t sell for 7x the current m/cap, that was a very bold statement indeed. I wonder though if a major came out of the woodwork with an offer in that ballpark, would he really turn it down?
