"Direct emissions we produce 1.1% of the worlds emissions, however, indirectly we produce a hell of a lot more. Currently China manufactures 65% of all products on behalf of businesses in the UK (source ONS) so we can blame China for their emissions. The same goes for many countries with the lion share of manufacturing done by both China and India. Just imagine if China and India one day turned around and said 'NO' make them yourselves. Th reason our emissions are so low is because we outsource our "
So are you suggesting anytime soon the UK will be told by China to !make our own" dream on!!!
The fact is the world needs the goods whoever makes them, always will. The UK governments have been negligent over the years and have allowed our manufacturing to be stolen by the likes of China and India, think MG!!!!!!!! et al
To be frank most people are not interested or bothered with emissions, most are too concerned with looking after their families day to day, both parents working to provide a roof over their heads, consequently nearly every household has 2 cars? then its 3/4 once the children become old enough to drive.
The rich and governments are using the EV as a ruse to price people out of driving, well they think they are, there lies the problem, "think" most politicians cant? most experts can't because they evolve in a bubble of "think tanks" mainly situated in London or the South East!!!
And to answer your other comments, no they are not, for long distance travel there are no milk floats in action, yes driving a bus in and out of a town?city they are, but this is the point, the cost of these is irrelevant to Local Authorities, as they are funded by us, the taxpayer???
As for farm machinery being electric, I deal with many farms here in Central England and not one has any electric vehicles!!!! make of that what you will.
As I say and will reiterate the point, its a Con and a lie and will never happen?
