You are quite correct, markets do not always translate the inherent value of a company into it's share price. I can lead you to many a board on this site where posters say exactly the same regarding their particular investment. For those investors always believe that the share price should be higher and furthermore quantify their reasoning for their beliefs by trotting out countless statistics to back up their theories.
Lets take our investment shall we, we can agree that over the past 12 months the news flow has been on the whole positive, the only blip being the Cobre issue. Yet the share price has almost halved in that same period. Time after time positive RNS has been met with a falling sp or it has at first popped up only to fall back and even finish red!!!
Your argument states that negative news, can disproportionately decline it; my argument is that we have only had one piece of negative news amongst a sea of positive news yet the sp declines and has continued to do so!! If we had only minimal positives during the period and the one negative I could accept your theory, however we have not. This therefore stacks up my current position, Cobre is the key driver here, it is the only part of the business that is currently operating and ensuring good cash flows to meet the ongoing costs of the other assets in the group currently in the exploration stage or in the case of LC in order to get the mine up and running. The market believes there is significant uncertainty surrounding the current cash "cow" so to speak, I think they are right having thought about this recently and working in business I know for a certain fact that the current position will not continue imo certainly beyond the date stated in the RNS, 7 June 2018 being 1 March 2019. The issue could drag on into 2019 and reach a conclusion one way or the other towards the deadline date stipulated. It is my belief this needs resolving as soon as possible, some posters believe there may be alternate customers!! if so why not utilise these?
As Iv'e stated before, it is simple business economics, yes the customer has agreed to pay us with zero deliveries to them for a period, but, if that business can survive on that sort of agreement I would be very surprised! in fact amazed.
There is no doubt now in my mind that this issue is the problem here and util resolved the sp along with the m/cap will continue to drift until resolved.

I'm still a holder here so these comments are not meant as a de-ramp or any of that tosh, just my take on the current situation of where I think we are.

Not many is the answer although if you dig around enough I'm sure you will find some. That is the whole issue in a nutshell for me, self funded, by Cobre, which is the very part of the business which is currently under a "cloud".

That is why imo we are where we are, nothing else at the minute matters as they are either exploration targets, or assets needing financial clout to be able to get up and running. The financial clout is the issue and will continue to be so until resolved. One can bang on about shorters for ever and a day but I believe this has very little to do with current events.

I'm afraid I disagree my take on it is the "Cobre" situation. Look, at the minute our business strataegy, model, outlook etc is all revolving around significant internal cash flows, where from, Cobre!!
Currently there is doubt surrounding this, this is not something I can see, but I think if you put your business hat on you will also see it. Shorts and all the rest of it particulary on aim are sometimes reasons made up for different circumstances and who is it that would short a share such as SML?
The newsflow over the past 12 months has ben positive, yet the sp has decreased, why?,

Interesting that the market new something on Tuesday (funny that), nice rise, then bingo out comes the news, then the sp stalls again. All the excitement was presumably used up during Tuesday trading!!! those in the know!!

The one point that still niggles at me is the Cobre position, how long will the client continue with the current plan? basically they are continuing to pay us and getting nothing in return, is how see it. I think this is where the problem is and the market takes the view that this cannot continually indefinately. At some stage one or two things will happen, the major client will re commence deliveries with the process and everything will be hunky dory, or the major client will default on their payments. I stress businesses will not gurantee to pay money for an extended period and essentially receive nothing in return! the market fully understands this I believe and this is why we are where we are.
The September quarter results from Cobre will demonstrate there is a fall in sales, as we know the cash is still coming in, but once the falling sales are released the market will react accordingly. Should we get into a situation where the client stops the payments then we will have a serious problem, and falling sp.
This is why it is imperative this situation is resolved one way or the other as soon as possible, then I believe the sp will re-rate if the settlement is a return to continuing deliveries to the major client.
At the moment all the other project are supported by Cobre, therefore this is why I believe we are still well undervalued and will remain so until the situation is clarified.

Good spot earny.

Having had a bit of a rant last week, I think frustration took over as I keep seeing and hearing only good news from SML yet Mr Market keeps walking down the price. I think however I should listen to me!! I know as you may that this particular period is poor for stocks, the saying goes "sell in May and stay away until St Ledger day" ie implying that this period can at times be static and frustrating. I watched the latest JP interview and boy does he sound and look confident, I still think setting targets can be a mistake, but to be fair to him, he does not give up and re-iterates his targets time and again. He's like a serial ramper only he is the top man and normal circumstances tell us that this sort of thing is certainly not the norm? In saying that I have been in stocks where the ceo has come onto discussion boards and taken part in a question and answer session! maybe that is yet to come.
Anyway having watched these interviews, researched again, although I think I know everything there is to know regarding SML, I have decided to throw another chunk in here and will be doing so over the coming day's.
I think the worst may be over and we could at last get back on track, there is only one real negative here for me, the Cobre issue. Again though JP sounded bullish in this respect and more or less brushed it aside as a non issue.

So for me come September onwards I think we may start edging higher at least back to the 2p level before year end.

There will aleays be sellers, that what makes a market!

However what we do not need is block selling in largish numbers constantly showing up just as we either have a positive rns or we are climbing. A sure sign that someone is dumping stock!

Today not too bad so far, very thin volume though so I wouldn't take much notice of the numbers, unless of course that changes and the sells increase through the day forcing us down.

I think if you look back at the history of options then you will see they always exercise them well in advance!

My point therefore stands and moreover it would have sent a negative signal to the market, particular so as currently the market appears from my perspective to be able to find any excuse to drop the sp.

Good evening.
You are correct, countless and many overvalued examples. That can happen on aim especially if the herd together with the twitterati set get involved. Values go out of the window, poor pi's get caught up in the excitement and before they know where they are they are in fact under water, and to stay there for a very long time.
SML are different, I still retain confidence that we will achieve a much higher valuation than of today, however, my confidence has been undermined slightly over the past 9 months seeing a constant decline and a constant seller or sellers.
I am now airing my opinions that's all, I'm not baling, I'm not here to de-ramp, just offering up my thoughts. I still think stating that the Co will be a £100M m/c company in a certain time frame was a mistake!

That said I take your point and will in fact give them the benefit of the doubt, I still however think there always two sides to every story and investors should not look through rose tinted glasses when invested thinking that every utterance they hear from the bod is gospel, believe me it ain't! been there several times and can introduce you to countless others who have also been suckered in "just like that".

Anyway onwards and upwards from here I hope, with news to come on many fronts it should be the start of a turnaround, I just hope the Cobre situation is resolved shortly, get the one negative aspect out of the way and put to bed once and for all.

Mid tier miner!! Eh, £6M for options, consider £65K to be "big money", their cash, happy with a rise today!! Normal every day people!! Really, do normal everyday people run plc's??? mmm! well whatever floats your boat!!! etc etc.
It appears some on here are somewhat wide of the mark and need to research their investment. I can't remember how long I have been invested here but what I do know is that I have seen the lows, highs and lows again, over a few years. The company has certainly evolved in that time and for the good, however this is aim, the crooked market, and to do well in it you have to be savvy and the bod particulary so.
I think the bod has been a little too bullish over the last 12 months, the most ludicrous comment was to target a £100M MC in a time frame from where we are now, or were before that gaff. I could join in the back slapping today, wonderful day, marvellous board, skin in the game and all the rest of the nonsense however I need convincing before I become over positive. Let's see what happens over the next month or so, say the end of October, if we are up around 2p or even close I will be the first to give JP, PW et al a big message of thanks and will be back onside and join in the ramping!!. I think we need to see a sustained rise throughout the next few months and an end to the constant selling seen over the past 9 months or so. If everything is rosy then there should be no obstacles in our way, obviously some ups and downs along the way but essentially a climb back up the charts, to where we believe we should be. No stupid suggestions of 5p 7p or even 10p, just 2p that is all.
As I've said before I can't see many negatives here on the face of it, on the other hand the pi is the last to find out about any of them!!! the bod will know if there are any? the broker will know! the pi will not?
Ive been around aim long enough and been caught out several times especially by over bullish directors!! and directors that have have skin in the game! therefore that's why my scepticism has suddenly appeared here, as month in month out it's drip drip drip down.
There is always room for opposing views on these forums and sometimes it is good that some posters to have differing opinions, especially those that are invested! that's the key point here, I'm invested, I've not sold and come back trying to drive the sp further down, or to plant seeds of doubt into holders minds, I'm merely questioning my investment and the current demise of the sp and trying to seek out reasons for it's current slide.
Normally its Friday sales day, let us hope tomorrow is not.

I personally think that if they had not excercised their options that would have told the market that they did not believe in their own hype!! and would have also had more negativity on the share price. Therefore I believe they had no option other than to do what they did, still a bargain in today's terms? and should be in the scheme of things moving forward.
Therefore I'm afraid I do not share your bullish sentiment at this point in time, in time and with a fair wind (for flying) I may do.
I am still a long term holder who wants to see SML succeed and so far have not dumped my holding apart from a little trading along the way.

Yes the usual positivity alright, shame it doesn't translate into market confidence!!!

Lots of buying today although volume is still p/p, lets hope the seller doesn't rock up later today and hammer the sp down!!

It's a shame we are at a such a low base as I see this a long climb ahead now, but nice to see a positive day!

We need many more and an end to the red day's for a sustained period to get us back where many of us believe we should be.

JC! what was all that about?
Before the RNS today there were virtually no trades! no postings! nothing?
Then we have a positive RNS, if it was in any way negative can someone please explain!
Then the sell off, apparently, and whoosh the sp tanks into silly territory?
I for one am totally baffled, someone say's there must be bad news in the pipeline and someone "in the know" knows? lol, perhaps someone is in the know and they are offloading? lol, if so why didn't they offload early doors before the RNS, obviously they were in the know?
This share has now become a farce, not the only one of it's kind on aim I have to say. I still predict a sharp upward trend once the summer holidays are out of the way, but I have to say this seller is very persistant, and has been for a very long time. JP did state there was no seller as far as he knew? obviously that statement was not factual. There is a seller or sellers and they have been active for many months?
I suspect that many LT holders are now becoming very uncomfortable with what is going on here, they say that aim stocks are not for investors, which to a certain extent is true. However there are aim stocks that have investment potential and I always thought SML was one of those. It is looking increasingly likely I could be wrong. I think JP and the bod need to arrest this slide immediately, either by buying in the market or making some positive comments, and I also think the Cobre situation needs resolving one way or the other, and quickly.

Last trade reported today sale and paid over the bid!
Could this be an indication mm's are running low?
May not mean anything on the other hand, but looking for signs of life!
In the quiet holiday period now so I don't expect much change, I hope JP keeps all relevant news until September onwards now, as long as the company are committed to release. I see an uptrend in Q4 and then into 2019. I base this on what newsflow there is to come, I also think that once the market has concrete news on LC then we will see some upward movement, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a quick uplift.
In the meantime top up at these levels as and when.

Hope so mate as I sold up in NCCL early doors today, took my small profit and ploughed it all in here and tripled my holdings?
At least we know this is not Africa based? anything that is usually turns into a nightmare and a constant flow of delay after delay!! remind you of anything?? still in that though.

Is that blue I can see???? surely not, this should be down, due to the financial uncertainties surrounding the company, no cash inflow, will require substantial funding in the near term, no potential add on business coming on stream any time soon, hopeless prospects regarding current exploration campaigns, poor level of leadership by the board and no communication with shareholders or the market.

In reality of course this remains one of the top stable shares on AIM, have raised money at substantially higher levels than today's sp, 2.25p and 2.75p to be precise, and not too waste on day to day running costs a la most AIM compamies or non entities, generates cash to fund current exploration projects, has excellent leadership, communicates superbly well with it's shareholders and the market, oh and I almost forgot, has something most AIM companies do not, a business and makes a profit!!!!!

You couldn't make it up!!

I just had a peak at the posts here today and you appeared!! I took a small position at .0027p months back and have added on the rise including today. I like this share and think things are moving in the right direction.
