I'm no oil expert... just wanted to know how they are measuring the BOPD at WW as part of the testing in terms of off take. Is the AM there to take the oil? Just curious how this is being managed. Fingers crossed for a big +ve week!
Well after everything I was reading this weekend on this BB and the high sulphur content... I was expecting us to be down 25% on opening this morning? What happened doom merchants? V. quiet start...
While we all wait for more news on testing at WW, I just wonder what people think now about the RNS on 8 Nov in response to media speculation. I must admit, I still find it a little odd.
On 8 Nov directly before the RNS the SP had hardly 'jumped through the roof'. And now after the flare we have only seen at best 10% up on the SP. Why did they release the RNS? If SP was at 50 on the speculation then would that have merited an RNS? I'm a LT investor here and have been for 2-3 years. Not going anywhere... but this is the most random share to second-guess. I think we were at >60p with no successful drills or offloads. Can anyone out there enlighten me?
Just a a reminder... 8 Nov RNS said: The Company notes the media speculation regarding the Warwick West well. The well is due to commence testing soon. The timing of testing is weather dependent. As such it is far too early to make any conclusions as to the success of the Warwick West well. An update will be provided once testing commences and on the completion of well testing.'
So we know the first Warwick drill found oil but not at sustainably commercial rates. With that drill... was there a flare seen? Just curious if any knows/can remember...
Also... we are pumping oil from Lancaster... does anyone know how income from Lancaster oil compares to company overheads on exploration. Are we in profit, breaking even or still losing money since the Lancaster strike?
Interesting day. As an investor in HUR and ECO... a few thoughts...
1. Some interesting suggestions on why HUR is not at 60p. A few comments about oil seen as dirty tobacco. Sorry but I don't buy that at all. When ECO struck with Jethro the Sp doubled in a minute. If you land BIG, the SP jumps.
2. A few days before ECO released their RNS to say Joe well was a gusher, a local government official accidentally reported an oil strike. We all knew it had to be ECO. So cats do get let out of bags...
3. What I find bemusing is that HUR and Dr. T always seem super reluctant to report in any capacity, let alone in response to gossip! So why the need to release an RNS today? The SP hasn't exactly gone through the roof today up >3%. And no news of a flare. Of course, Dr T does seem a very cautious chap, but if they release news on Monday confirming a BIG strike, how does that contextualise today's RNS. As a shareholder, I'm hoping for some good news, but I want confirmation of that flare.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
After a long time bouncing around 240-265 Joules made a nice jump yesterday up 17 to 282. Making some noise about 30 years in business.
What I like about the company is that I feel they aren’t pretty Brexit proof. Very strong British brand with aimed at the middle classes and progressing sales nicely abroad.
Worth we’ll over 300 in my opinion. Can the nice jump push on or will this drop back to 250?
14.1k barrels a day, 1.6 million barrels sold, Lancaster performing better than expected... well that sounds good at a glance over the RNS with a cuppa!
Hmmm... I have ECO shares... they struck more oil of Guyana today. 80m barrels (likely). 2nd strike in a month and after an initial rise of 30p the shares ended up 2p. HUR's performance today looks good in comparison... Welcome to the AIM lottery!
Jethro was Thriller and Joe is Bad...
Seriously... this could end in the red... who would have ever thought that. Where would we be if Je had been a duster?
Forgive me but I am fairly new to trading and oil shares in particular. Hold ECO and HUR.
Just a quick question on a possible takeover. If we are a takeover target based on the Guyana finds will the company be bought out in one lot? ie shareholders are forced to sell up for an agreed price. Or is there any way the Guyana part of the business gets sold off and Namibia is retained? I just don’t know how this is likely to play out. Anyone who can briefly advise, thanks in advance.
I think your 333 will appear in due course!!
And on the rise!!
Morning PHY. Look down a few posts and you’ll maybe be interested in my ‘Hypothetical Q’ from yesterday. A few interesting answers.
Looks like I was thinking the same as you.... but TBH I think I’m just going to sit this one out today. This share is going up long term and we all know that. Good luck if you trade today.
333... double bubble. I’ll send you a bottle of champagne Wallact if we are 333 or north of that. Honestly I will!
30 mins time... just for fun... what are we opening at? I’ll start the fun with 222
Liked this quote in the Tullow RNS from their Exploration Manager: ‘ we are greatly looking forward to the next phase of the programme as we continue to unlock the multi-billion barrel potential of this acreage’.
As if a positive RNS wasn’t the only good news ahead of the market opening today.
If we add anything north of 50p to the SP today then I’ll be happy. I see more than that as a bonus!
It is a strike. We are batting 100% at 2 for 2. Second positive RNS on a Monday in a month. Other shares I hold don’t give back this sort of fun ride. Happy to see how this plays out regarding SP today and longer term. Gil seems v happy. That will do for me
Jurassic Park!!!
