I personally (as in not read about them in the papers) know two previously healthy young men who had severe reactions 3 weeks after receiving the vaccine. The first, a 39 year old, died immediately of a heart attack, and the second had a heart attack followed by a stroke. He had a heart transplant about 10 days ago and is now able to sit out of bed, but he will have to learn to talk again. Ironically, he was a biologist and very much in favour of the vaccine. In both cases the medics say it was pure coincidence, so neither are part of the official statistics despite the extremely worrying circumstances (the second young man was talking on the phone - so not exercising - when he had the heart attack). Don't know what vaccine the first one received, but the second one had Moderna. Make of that what you will.

I have been getting more into funds lately, but my share portfolio is still ahead of my funds. Long term I don't expect much difference, but you can put your feet up a bit more with funds.

I would sell 30% of my holding when it reaches the low 400s but buy them back again after the dip to 375p.

The next dividend will be declared on 4th August and is very likely to be of the order of 4.93p, possibly slightly more, if their dividend follows the previous pattern. Now 4.93 (dividend)/262.8 (current SP) is about 1.88%.

Don't see this going much lower, as it's already quite low already and a lot are in this for the dividend, the next of which will go Ex-divi in just under 7 weeks times albeit with a likely dividend impact of just under 2%.

Yes, very likely in the next two weeks and will be looking to pass £8 by year's end. It's a very solid dividend share and I don't see that changing. My average is 681p but that actually makes me well up taking into account all the dividends I've received over the years. Can't go wrong with these. Solid shares always bounce.

Good dividend. One of the best value stocks at the moment.

Just bought another 2,500 shares. Couldn't resist, it's trending upwards and it's one of my few shares still in the red so this purchase will get me into the blue a smidgen earlier.

Glad I bought more of these when the market crashed last year in March. Didn't think people would stop drinking!

Remember to not let one share take up too large a position of your portfolio. I once got carried away and had a single share taking up almost 40% of my portfolio, was great for a while but then it turned into a learning experience!

That said, LGEN is my largest holding at about 12% of my portfolio. But if it ever got anywhere near even 30% (and that could well happen) then this time I would do some re-balancing.

But it hardly makes much difference whether you sold or held. The adjusted close on 14th was 278.06p and when you take the costs of buying back in plus the stamp duty then you're looking at an equality price of about 276.5p, which is a little lower than where we are now as I write this. Furthermore, had you sold, you would need to get back in by now not to miss out on future gains. Just not worth the hassle. If it's much higher than 276.5p on payment date and you're not back in by then you will definitely have reason to feel cheated.

Not really. It's a little below the 276.5 figure that would give equality with selling (don't forget the stamp duty) but not by much. Still would not have been worth the hassle and worry that you'll miss out on the inevitable climb.

The number of fatal reports seems biased towards the under forties, especially considering that not a large percentage of under forties have had the vaccine yet.
