That will always be the million dollar question. To suggest in the mid noughties oil and gas exploration was somehow in the technological dark ages is absolutely preposterous. It was discovered and deemed not commercially viable. I get seismic mapping has improved but that doesn’t magically turn non commercial discoveries into super gushers.

@Professional; ...but how real, is ‘real’? No third party validation, Total binned it off 14 years ago, no farm in partner, a fund raise for an appraisal well to ‘confirm discovery’, not increase in the resource, ‘DISCOVERY’! So there must be doubts in the veracity of the existing data. If it was just to firm up existing data, I doubt they’d be spunking $14m on it.
It’s just all of a sudden become extremely trixy.

What I find most annoying, is that I probably still won’t sell my meagre stake. Chariot is like that hot chick that your mate used to go out with that kept cheating on him. No matter how many times it happened, he still couldn’t bring himself to dump her.

I think how many you buy is still optional. You’re just limited to a max of 1:6

My mind remembers the tweet by HL that showed typical mcaps are 25-30% of NPV. So at $400-600m mcap based on today’s sp is roughly 45-60p. Now consider the share count could quite easily double through various ‘schemes’, then you get closer to Westie’s 20p.
It’s stating the obvious but if there is no uplift in sp before finance negotiations are concluded, we humble pi’s could be well and truly rogered...and not up the right hole. It all depends on how scrupulous the current BOD’s are.

@Cottoner; That’s not what I asked. The increase in NPV is most welcome...However, the capex has increased by $300m. So I don’t think I am missing anything. Thanks for your input though.

Am I missing something here? Previous capex estimate to build the mine in two years was $411m. Now, with the staged building over four phases, it’s now over $700m...

At one point, my ‘investment’ here was valued at just shy of £60k...it keeps me awake at night. The only saving grace is that I’m now back in the black, so I can’t grumble too much, which I’m sure you’re all happy about. ;)

Its the end of Q1 and I’d have hoped for developments on assets we already own. I assume Total Eren have employees and running costs?!?! I’m going to be honest, long term diversification is the key to further success. However, I’m not sure this is the move I’d have made myself. Let’s hope that farm out news is just around the corner.
