Fresh money often does well as you will often see from IPO's of funds so I welcome this however the next NAV growth cal will be a little diltuded. We are all here for the long run anyway and this is a good move.

I got the impression *if* there are no more DD requests and sufficient time for the consortium to digest FCA news then an outcome will be imminent.

Short closing event expected before the outcome of the bid.

I wonder at what price they will be accepted with only ABC as the potential buyer.

ABC appears to be keeping the share price steady. If this was up to PI's this would far more volatile.

It is a high conviction bet for me. If you believe 35-40p region then you should sell as this would be rejected by all shareholders especially ABC.

The RNS updates are because of the takeover rules. Albert Bridge Capital (ABC) are mopping up the sells slowly. If the outcome of PE is not successful this will fall to 20-25p but should recover. The upside is unknown. Media speculate a deal 40-50p. I am speculating 55p to 80p.

In the results video (see AA PLC website and sign up) said that the bid is nearing the end. So to me that means, zero chance of an outcome tomorrow possibly even Thursday (hence the extension and the selling by traders) but the chances increase as soon as Friday. Then a mid chance next week. Failing anything next week then the chances increase until the end of the month.

The whole process is about doing what is right foremost to the company with the approval of the shareholders. In the past it has been deals done to the detriment of The AA. The AA is not simply going to sell to the highest bidder without equity swap and will show that capitalism can do and should do good.

It is worth however taking some of the table to participate in a placing. I successfully profited from Capita some years ago when thy did the same... the AA is for more resilient than Capita. I strongly believe it will not come to this and we get a speedy exit at an attractive price, whatever that is.

I needed a chuckle this morning. These are 6 month results and you have to look at these numbers on a full year of trading. You could in particular look to the Adjusted basic EPS3.

BillC, I hope not. Dividends are partly what is wrong with UK PLC vs the US where dividends tend to be reinvested and so in the US it is upto the inderviduals to extract the dividend by selling.

And further up on the announcement "...number of matters including, inter alia, the completion of the Consortium's due diligence and the finalisation of documentation. " as should take days maybe weeks more. So this should not come as a shock. If you can not wait, then sell now, otherwise, sensibly hold for a long as needed.

Just to re-iterate Tuesdays update a 28-day extension is good as granted. So when the RNS lands there should not be a drop. If anything it should be up massively! If there is a drop the current fluctuations are just stupid noise and would buy more.

I am going to guess an extension however to be announced early together with the H1 results.

This was known about from the RNS before the tweet came out. Offer price should still be high to gain acceptance from board and shareholders like ABC.

Watkins, I can't speak for jedclampit, but the price range is above ABC average of mid 40's and the 50/60p range is staff and other holders happy.

jedclampit absolutely. No point progressing bids at lower prices. That's why we have PE firms pulling out with the ideal suitors looking to make an offer at a more palatable price.

Perfect buying opportunity as the markets are down.
