Like I wrote. The risk of selling or profit taking now is missing out on future gains. I don't think this going down anytime soon for sure and I regret profit taking now.

Graphcore will most likely be floted on the NASDAQ an international index based as we know in the US.

Guys there is a MSCI Disruption index you can buy through an ETF with the ticker DTEC. The fee is just 0.15 percent for about 6 months and would complement GROW.

While I am shareholder here you appear to be on your own.

The discount here is crazy given the growth of Asia and fully expect this to close in time as the type of factor of the fund comes into favour.

Has there been a deadline set? I had word and hoped sooner and planned ti use up my ISA allowance for the current tax year.

This a buy and hold. Nobody can predict short term share movements despite a strong trend down it can't continue forever.

Woodford had a fund structure with Woodford Equity Income Fund where investors money is invested directly in companies including stupidity 20 percent in Private Equity. With private equity you can't simply buy or sell when investors decide to buy or sell so this could never work. Thankfully I can only think of one other fund that does this and that is US based and like 69 percent cash.

The opposite of a Fund is a PLC structure often called an Investment Trust (IT) or for GROW just a PLC and this already holds the holding that someone paid for on IPO and we are simply buying shares in the PLC and not the holdings.

Woodford did go on to start a Trust WPCT but the holdings shared many of the holdings in the Fund.

Today I added a really odd PLC Sherborne Class C that used to be Private Equity but only holds BARC on a discount. If the PLC winds up I bank the discount. If the results are good this week the share price should tick up.

I don't need a takeover, but Steff at this rate I could probably sell 10% at the end of the year and then join you in RR ;-P

Thanks for the link. I'd buy more on the dips. Somewhat skeptical that the recent rise was due to some inside info on the recent news and report.

The main market listing would be FTSE small cap I presume and yes this would be good as there are many like me who own and FTSE small cap index who would then buy GROW.

When I wrote: "Giant tech is a problem, and any split up would impact the likes of GROW", I meant to say indirectly with ITs and funds like Baillie Gifford forced to sell.

I think the success of Europe stocks is indeed partly lack of Black swan events in Europe rather than the globe. China and Taiwan situation is a little risky but perhaps overblown. What could derail markets is splitting up of the tech giants in the US that would mean China will do the same. Giant tech is a problem, and any split up would impact the likes of GROW. It is one to watch under Biden (not that I am a Trump fan in any way).

I would expect a little pullback as GROW should sell the shares bought for discount control as I presume they don't cancel them...but would need to check this.

Skid, when something is tipped I often take some profit. I would choose PIN over OCI as they have a better track record especially performance of the share price after the financial crisis. Currently on a better discount. As is HVPE hististorically 15 percent annualised.

Brokers may be waiting on Graphcore news. 30% rise could come sooner if Graphcore IPO lists on the NASDAQ or if another disruptive fund decides to buy-in because relatively speaking the NAV should be stronger or listed smaller tech companies need to fall in value.

RR is a great company with lots of upsides. Airline industry (or governments) now have to deal with fake vaccine certificates causing issues!!!! The downtrend trend all the way to the earnings report on the 11th is about 82p and then your banking on the earnings report to propel it above the resistance line. Then its likely to be another downtrend eroding any small profits. Traders will look to get in a day before or on the day the earnings report. I believe there are other industrial sectors that will recover sooner, your area of expertise is house building that gets people back to work.

Yes thats it! I still recommend (fwiw) we stay in the covid stocks. The downward trend of these stocks are painful and could undo your wins in GROW. We used to type about getting rich slowly with little risk remember. We should stick to this principle. I dipped my toe into BARC for a week or so but my mental stop loss meant I was down only £200 :-) I am not going back!

You can see his trades every month with Airbus one of them in December, but this was before the C-19 variants. His fund has performed extremely well but even this trade was done without knowing enough about the varients but I am happy for 15% of my portfolio with him.

Around the same period, Ballie Giffords MONKS also rotated into RyanAir and BHP. Again these "latent-growth" or "recovery stocks" only make up less than 10% of these global funds so far.

Steph, I can see the draw to the COVID-19 recovery plays airlines, industrials and financials. But I think funds are really the way to this. Funds like T. Rowe Price Global Focus, Fundsmith, Lindsell Train Global Equity even Baillie Gifford's Monks Trust. I suspect travel restrictions may drag on for a lot longer with untested C-19 varients.

But for now I presume we are all bullish regardless of the longer term?

Is repayment defaults bad for banks? A loan is backed by an asset and everything should just bounce back one day. Happy for knowledgeable posters to explain.

Hi all, I am new here. The thing about BARC (unlike LLOY) is that is not really a traditional bank and has an investment arm that I hope has done really well in the results. I dipped my toe in today but If it drops some more I am in for the results and the rest of 2021. This will soon become my only UK investment with 5% of my porfolio.

Good find Steph. Despite excellent gains from COVID-19 lows, GROW is still has some performance chasing to do and it is now clear where this will come from. It is in the same boat as HGT waiting for removal of the post covid adjustment. I know HVPE had theirs and that had resulted in a nice boost considering they had lots of hard-hit sectors that are still being impacted.

The UK market was hit really badly today. Apart from Asia and a few select sectors, every stock is resting on a trendline. So I sold my only rising stock today and bought technology including GROW as my value play. Hoping all the negativity should be priced in next week.
