Your totally out of order telling Dick to do his political rant elsewhere, his rant as you like to call it is pertinent to JOG and he is entitled to his opinion just as you are. For you to say "Management salaries are totally normal." is total rubbish. On the basis that when "Verbier" was announced several years back JOG (from memory) touched 400+p following which the directors hiked their salaries - pray tell what they have actually DELIVERED to enhance shareholder value. I could go on and mention 2 significant dilutions since those pay awards, but I can't be bothered, you disappoint me.

Your missing the biggest advantage of ISA's - They involve "zero" input by the investor. If you are a trader your GCT return must take considerable time. In 2 years the allowance will be down to £3k and as looks likely a future labour government will probably scrap it all together. They may even go further and scrap ISA's and then you will have no choice. Start building your ISA's now - Joint a/c's as you say are not allowed so you could do one each and maybe get £120k into them before they are potentially scrapped.

To add, I think local authorities will also be caught off guard by the rapid deterioration of road services (especially motorways) caused by the shear weight imposed on them by all these electric vehicles.

Selling outside your ISA - Well you can offset your losses against any winners you may have, cannot be many VOD shareholders with a CGT issue.

These commenced yesterday. It is interesting to know they are being held in treasury, most schemes buy them and then cancel them reducing the total in issue. I wonder why they are holding them in treasury!!

The WFT should be renamed WFT2. There has been no mention of the huge additional tax the UK Government has taken from this energy crisis. Fuel (whether it be petrol or diesel) has risen from circa 140p to at time in excess of 190p a litre the vast majority of which is Tax and VAT.
If the thoughts of Cyril2 materialise the whole WFT scheme could well backfire on our pathetic politicians.

Well if you really do still hold these I would recommend that at 18/19p you move them into an ISA, CGT would then not be an issue - I might add however that any return to 40p never mind 80p may be a long long way off. I would also remind you that paying CGT is considered by many to be a "privilege"

Do we know if the therms produced for November exceed the hedge? my workings suggest it does but maths has never been my strong point.
