We must be way off with our calcs on this one.
Magellan today sold their 35pc stake for £12m so how can ALBA’s 11pc be worth £7m or £3m pa for 25 years.
Come on are there any experts out there to clarify it’s worth to ALBA.

Your calc of £7m for Alba’s share sounds exciting but:
You assume
1) max production of 3500 barrels will be achieved
2) 50 dollars a barrel, is that profit? What about the costs for getting the stuff out, plus transport to refinery.
3) There must be other things to take into account.
So let’s be conservative and say ALBA could easily achieve £3m a year for 25 years, even that sounds to good to be true for a company of its current size.

Number of shares in issue x the highest share price comes nowhere near BP’s valuation. Clearly maths is not your strong point.

Some impressive values there, and everyone a winner. Surely they can’t all be wrong, and excitingly we should have some sort of answer this side of Xmas.

They may not get the chance to exercise their option, this could well be taken out, capitalised at only 50m it’s ripe for a takeover.

I’ve now read the Investor Chronicle article and it just reiterates what was previously reported, so that cannot be responsible for the late rise. I guess we will know more on Monday.

Spend 100m on JOG get their 100m barrels in North Sea use up tax losses. What could be simpler.

Millions continue to be bought back and cancelled below 50p, got to be good news for holders. 2 weeks until the end of new PPI claims, further good news for holders.

Just been looking back at previous RSN’s. The big announcing the licence award was almost a month ago, Equinor has a 3 month option to take 50pc, so just 2 months remain, that’s the maximum. Current sp is now below the latest director buying level.

It’s being reported that they are receiving 190,000 claims per week with about 10pc proving genuine claims. Expect there could be a sum left in the pot when it’s all resolved.
On the share buy back, they will get quite a few shares for their money following today’s fall.
On the move to quarterly dividends from 2020 I expect a share consolidation, pointless paying a fraction of 1p every quarter.

£550m seems an awful lot just one month before the cut off point. It would be interesting to know how much they hold in the PPI pot pending claims. Then the question is, will it all be claimed.

To create rumour, it could well be another oily (Premier or Tullow to name a couple) could come along next week and throw 100m (380p) on the table and take JOG out. Actual cost about 80m (JOG has 20m) and some nice tax losses.
How does that sound, could happen.

Can’t see 3 directors buying the week before a placing, many are not clever people, but non are stupid.

Anyway the company does not need funds presently. Once (and it’s only a matter of time) Equinor Exercise their option and the terms of the arrangement are fully disclosed the sp will be much higher. The sp has risen 110p this week and all the punters who have missed out on the action are posting crap to unnerve holders. By all means read the posts but don’t take any to heart.

Expect further strengthening when the Dow opens. Prospective IPO of its tower is extremely positive

Well that is one of the most positive updates I’ve seen in a while from AFC and it indicates that maybe my investment here is not worthless. I draw attention to the final sentence of Adam Bonds report.
“I LOOK FORWARD TO PROVIDING FURTHER UPDATES TO THE MARKET THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF 2019”

If you look back at my posting history Mr Bond has used those words before. I hope he delivers this time, I watch with interest.

What does pump and dump mean?
My understanding is it mean you pump it up and then dump the shares. Furthermore I understand you do this when there was nowt there is the first place.
JOG has something, so in my book there will be a tree shake to take out the short term speculators. Time will tell.

I know we can take most estimates from house brokers with a pinch of salt.
Daniel Slater at house broker Arden Partners had a target of 230p before today’s news, he has now revised it to 450p using an oil price of 65 dollars. The article includes his prediction that Equinor will exercise their 50pc option within the 3 months and that his long term view of this transformational news is that the sp could reach 1300p. Even if he is half right there will be many happy investors. The article is in the FT and subscription only, really good read.
