thanks adouble - your answer makes sense. I guess there's always a "margin or error" to these things but even to a layman it looked like a sizeable flare which can only bode well..

agree Biff - there will be a point at which people who are not invested in Hurr are kicking themselves they did not take the oppo.....hopefully soon.

it would indeed SIPP - for the benefit of a non-oil person is it really possible to infer the flow from the size of the flare? Some fairly bullish comments around this in the last 24 hours.

there might be something in some of what you say Daltry. the other drivers for me are the significant number of shares in issue which make it incredibly hard to move the needle - a 1p shift implies a £19m increase in mkt. cap therefore it takes real substantive news to lift the valuation. The other is the risk factor that is acting as a drag on the sp esp. after WD. However the fact remains that Hurr is an oil producer with positive significant operating cash flow and if Lincoln comes good then the fundamental drivers for this company start to come to the fore and individual market participants are less able to influence the share by dipping in-and-out. If we throw some M&A possibilities into the mix then the stock moves into a different place altogether, imo.

problem is with 2bn shares in issue it is quite hard to shift the needle. With that said the latest news has added the princely sum of £20m to the mkt cap which does seem a tad bizarre. I think part of the issue is the investment community wanting more certainty after WD before buying into this so any update on the technical data can't come soon enough....

differing views on when we will get a further update on the results of the test. I cannot for one minute imagine that the BOD would leave the update until the interim announcement as some have suggested, in fact surely they could not as the results of the test would be disclosable by nature. so what is a realistic timeframe - end of the week?

it does not help that the sp is faced with a wall of sellers wishing to make money out of a 2p rise. Once the adults get their heads around what they're dealing with here and with a more fulsome RNS we'll get a steady rise in the SP

well Bull .....that would be amazing - hope you are right. One thing that i have been thinking on since the news of the flare on Saturday is the lead time to getting Lincoln to produce with a tieback (end 2020) seems quite long. Is this Hurricane just playing the expectations game knowing that they can get it producing quicker? They generally seem to be good to their word though....

hard to believe that there is any potential upside from Lincoln in the current price. so with that then we might assume that some folks start piling in, in anticipation of good news

No offence taken Albi. Just making the point that this latest news if borne out by a positive RNS tomorrow further builds a positive LT investment case for Hurr

No Albi I am not I am British. The news of Lincoln however, if credible reaffirms my belief in Hurricane, Dr Trice and the entire Rona Ridge play. Of course there will be some who expect a rise and then a drift back down and they may try and realise some value. Good luck to them. My investment horizon is somewhat longer and therefore I think it is worth staying put to allow full value to be realised either by take-out or by Hurr realising value themselves which I think they are in a strong position to do given the cash flow the existing assets will generate.
