Share, you have to be able to deal with this kind of stuff. If you can't deal with it in here, then don't post on any other board, for I promise you, you'd have to be extremely thick-skinned. This board here is the one with the nicest people you will be able to meet. I've been ripped to shreds on other boards. I don't know why, I think a lot of people on LSE are extremely territorial and too many who think of themselves as Alphas around, thinking they carry the biggest chips on their shoulders. I've been an army wife for most of my life, now I'm the wife of retired soldier and I can stick their abuse where these Alphas can no longer reach themselves to clean their own poop away :-) and I tell them exactly that, if they don't back off ;-) . But WHEN I start telling them that, then I won't stop any time soon and I don't have to use 'language' to fold them up. My advice to you, Share: Grow a pair

Share, I'm trying to be nice to everybody, even to myself and trust me... yesterday I had to be extremely nice to myself. I have pulled out most of my investment in PNPL a few days too early and yesterday this Barsteward shot up like a rocket. I could have made over £2500 yesterday, but 'hey'... I don't know what happened with share yesterday, but it was most bizarre. I'm glad I'm glad I'm totally out of there now and managed to bag £250

Share, we're all on the edge. Some folks in here are invested heavily, I'm not anywhere near that with my 6000 shares in Amigo. If it goes South, then I'd lose around £350, which would hack me off, but it's not the world and I've already made for that, just in case.

Share, I really do love it here. I just think with horror back to the guy, who took a substancial loan to top up handsomely in here, without discussing that with the Mrs first. I hope he survived the punishment.

On this note, Share, if you like to dig deep, would you or would you not invest into Tesco? I mean they did have a few scandals that aren't long ago and I find it a pain in the rectum to understand their balance sheet :-)

seamus, but you can't compare Amigo to large banks ;-) , which caused the housing bubble, which eventually led to collapse of Lehman and moved basically every single bank, along with the entire world-economy to the edge of a cliff with a drop so deep, that the ground could not be seen from up high. Amigo is also not responsible for the ECB throwing billions in cash into the economy (thank goodness we never took the Euro), which may lead to the biggest financial meltdown humankind has ever had the misfortune to experience.

Cranleigh, I agree, but what happened was this: The rogue agents asked the potential customer about their financial situation (Income, regular outgoings and how much they shop on average). If the numbers they were given made an agreement unlikely, or only likely for a lower amount than the customers were looking for, then they'd 'doctor' the outgoings, so that it would fit. It only came out, when some customers couldn't meet their payments and told the company why they couldn't. So, the supervision alone wasn't the issue here.

HH, supervision is what brought this out. But at the time the loan is ok'd there is no supervisor present. In the case of provi, the agents in question, had only recently started and were pulled out of circulation by sacking, within a few months after they started. Thankfully, the damage caused was not too big, as the provi agents are collecting more than setting up loans in comparison.
