That's what I mean, expru, I don't have to think, at least not knowingly. Errors happen mainly in the writing and I also know of the problem of suddenly not finding a word. That happens either if I have used a word more often in one language than the other and can't come up with the correct meaning, or if a word just simply does not exist in the other language. That usually happens with unique structures of words. Linguistically, I would explain it like this: "It's like to trains are running at the same speed down a track, but every once in while, one has to slow down or one has to speed up". Apparently, the more languages one speaks, the easier it get, as that would increase your pool of vocabulary. Having said that, German is different to most languages spoken on the continent, as it got somewhat stuck in the Old Germanic and the Romans with their Latin had less linguistic influence. If hadn't been raised as a German speaker, would I learn it? .. Heck, no chance :-) I invite anyone the essay "The Awful German Language" by Mark Twain lol.
