The current high interest environment was forecasts 18 months ago when everyone could see the amount of government borrowing around the world (most hadn't even started to pay down debts incurred from 2008 crash).
It either that, or have everyone to agree to clear debt in one go...a "reset" you might say?
Meanwhile, Chinese are having to lower interest rates due to a deflating property bubble and increasingly debt ridden infrastructure projects.
Bit of a conundrum isn't it?
Some could be living in houses they can't afford soon, maybe even with negative equity and unable to put the heating on?
Meanwhile, in the jolly boys outing at Davos, all the glad handing and back patting will be going on as usual, along with a bit of skiing and rinsing of expense accounts.
(But the BIG question is did Boris REALLY know about the party...ffs!?)
Glad I'm clear of debt.
