Its all very well blaming sellers, but where are the buyers?
Regardless, a decision will soon come on the 5% and we shall see how SP reacts
+ Lots to look forward to going forward short and longer term
antigua18, GGP offered Newcrest more than 60m for the 5% in March
How can Newcrest refuse 60m+ for their 5% option in March only to let it expire for nothing a few months later? they surely have to take it
I was looking at a bottoming pattern for GGP yesterday and was interested if SP would come back to test the breakout
https://imgur.com/OmYjODI.jpg
SP is up about 40% this month so it can have a breather and confirm some steady footing, as long as it holds and doesnt collapse back down then all is good
"So unless they have to wait for Newcrest's decision on the 5% ( which I doubt )"
I would go the other way and guess the 5% needs to be wrapped up first, but who knows.
welsh, ty, that was refreshing
I will tag on to this topic instead of starting a new one
But do guys think SP will rise into the confirmation of the 60m and then pull back after it?
Or will we get a further surge in SP once the 5% in actually confirmed
deedum, I imagine back in March GGP said "we would like 60m, if you think that is to much we would be prepared to give you x amount more today not to take up your option, that is how fair we feel our number is"
NCM said no clearly, so they wanted the 5% what ever happens, they just wanted it for their figure (under 42m since its over 30% away) and clearly they preferred to risk paying $60m and secure the 5% than swap their option for a larger sum of money
I don't think GGPs offer was open ended, once it went to a Independent valuation I imagine the offer had to be over
Tom come on
"I'll be selling my remaining shares at 22p"
Bamps: I’m looking forward to it getting to 22p
Put 2 and 2 together lol
Fantastic video, there is certainly lot to look forward to in the future
Hav will pay for itself* providing* I type way too fast and check too little before hitting enter
Well look at the way the Glazers bought Manchester United, take out a loan, the club itself pays off the loan, works out beautifully
Buy Hav asap on what is known right now, keep discovering more gold/copper, Hav will pay itself and you remove a small partner who you probably feel are proving nothing and taking money out of your pocket and you will earn a lot more in the long term.
Dip, on Wednesday night you said you thought 60m was Newcrests number, now youre saying 60m for GGP is quite remarkable
Clearly youre a smart guy, but to me it just goes to show no matter how much many of us think we know whats going on, until Shaun comes out and lays it on a table were just guessing.
"I think this video sums up what Sandeep did when he heard that GGP had accepted the deal."
Sorry to be pedantic, but GGP didnt accept anything (other than the original deal) NCM exercised their option to 5% and GGP are obliged to sell.
Good point nap, 9.5m damn, that really would have been a disaster.
With how positive Shaun is about the 60m including stuff like:
"The mechanism itself did make us want to be conservative because fundamentally this arbitrator had to make a decision of either one party price or another so you’re rewarded for being measured and justified in your submission"
His valuation wasn't measured or justified if they picked NCMs number..? so 60m must been GGP?
Did you explore different options like a discord or subreddit? they would have been less hassle to set up and maintain

A discord?
Are we recreating discussions from yesterday?
I will just repost the best reply from lebugue-addick
"Shaun Day:
* orchestrated the MRE upgrade to 6.5 million ounces of gold equivalent which itself is ultra cautious by his own admission;
* has put in place a strong management team capable of holding its own in discussions with Newcrest and others;
* arranged for the JV team to meet 5 times a month, adding to GGP's credibility as an increasingly knowledgeable company
* has not let Newcrest get their way on buying the 5% at the first opportunity - clearly negotiating hard on behalf of shareholders to maximise the $ from what appears to be a less than favourable agreement
* engages strongly with shareholders and the media to sell the GGP story
* has a track record of creating shareholder value everywhere he's been
* has attracted more institutional shareholder to the register
* notes "bank financing underway with objective to be fully funded up until free cashflow"
etc"
"just SP and MCap shows there facts."
Tesla in 2021 market cap was more than the top 9 automakers around the world whilst under 1% of total car sales
Carnival Cruises market cap got back to pre pandemic levels in 2021 despite taking on huuge debts and nowhere near the revenue and profits
Or probably the best example, GGP 38p in late 2020 with so much less known and developed than right now
The only facts SP show is that they can be very detached from reality for periods of time.
