In 2016 a company sold 11 Scottish gold medals at auction which sold for an average of £4,557.9 per ounce, a 378% premium compared to spot at the time which was, if my maths isn't terrible ~£1200

I think it's difficult to compare what might happen with Albas medals since there are only three, it's Welsh gold + a high spot price could cut into the premium but interesting nonetheless

Just to clarify, Alba has not made coins they have produced medals

If they wanted to show they get a good premium they should have done sovereign sizes instead of 1oz, maybe even half sovereigns

Spot gold is already pricey relative to recent years, they will be doing well to get 3-5k would be my guess

When you say £1 you have to think about what that means for the market cap

The market cap is already $1.25 billion

Someone said they've seen shares double on rumours, yeah maybe if they're worth several million total, we're at $1.25 billion

Asking for GGP to be worth ~$15 billion at £1 is a lot no (if my math is right)

I can't remember how much dilution there has been but I just found a tweet from September 2020 that says 27p meant £1 billion market cap.

If my math isn't terrible if it was £1 billion at 27p then at 37p it was £1.37 billion?

So to get a new all time high market cap we need 10.4p share price

The PFS in 2021 valued the Hav starter mine at $3.48 billion assuming a gold price of $1750

Wouldn't be surprised if it does Bellers but the future is full of gold and profit for GGP

Alba may find because the price of gold is so high atm anyway there isn't a lot of room for a big premium on top

I was just reading someone share their disappointment at selling their collectible gold 50ps they bought from the royal mint over the years which garnered no premium above spot, despite at the time obviously being purchased for well above; I'm sure if gold prices were lower they would have kept some semi-numismatic value.
