Speedy Telfer isnt worth much without Hav - https://www.afr.com/companies/mining/newcrest-keeps-telfer-s-home-fires-burning-for-havieron-20210812-p58i75
It would not cost 1b to buy, it would probably cost 1b to create a similar facility
It would probably just be baked into the price of Hav as they go hand in hand
Freddie, SP was due to fall whomever was in charge
Him and his team managed to keep the 5% (yes Newcrest declined but bc SD successfully got an independent party to agree 65 million was fair)
Imagine if he wasnt so proactive with the updated mre and we lost the 5% for the paltry amount Newcrest offered, that really would have made getting to the 2b+ market cap you expect harder
Thank him
In a world of big fish eat little fish theyre really going to let the little fish get the spoils and get Hav & Telfer for a good price? I really cant see it happening, makes no sense.
Bamps that 5% shouldnt come in to play
SD was forced to give a price and it was forced to be very conservative because if an independent party said Newcrests number was fairer then we would have got the paltry amount they offered
+ of course as you know, based on outdated info
1.9 billion total value would be pretty dreadful
Jbar, Is it in anyway conceivable GGP could buy the rest of Hav and Telfer presumably(?)
Speedy, is debt strong globally? I think we would have to say yes, lots of debt
How much of that debt is in dollars and needs to be repaid in dollars?
So how can one doubt the strength of the dollar when there is so much demand
I will worry about SP when we are producing, until then its just a number because I don't plan to sell
You or I being concerned about SP wont change anything, all you can do is buy, sell or wait and put your energy into more constructive endeavours
Just to tag on to my last post: if you blame other people for your mistakes you will never learn anything. Take accountability, be mad at yourself not SD.
Gervaise had the fun part, the discovery, gold and gold miners doing well in 2020; gold was going to $3k or 10k very soon depending who you listened to
SP was wso overblown it was silly, its easy to say in hindsight and I should have taken profit but I love the story, love gold, it was a fun pat on the back atmosphere and I was enjoying the ride too much
SP had to come down and I dont see how Shaun could have done a better job since taking over
Drill results haven't resulted in a rise since 2020, par for the course
You could make a case for GDXJ being a good way to go too
But yeah I agree with you, its hard to see how the only way for GGP wont be way up from here and it should be a nice ride until production, but time will tell as ever.
Apparently certain big crypto exchanges just print their own money by creating dollar tokens to use on their platform (disney money) and incentivising people not to swap them back for dollars by offering high interest on the tokens if you just leave them on the platform as is
Basically = give us your dollars for our play money because you can earn more play money; as long as people don't ever want to cash out for real usd its all good.. massive ponzi
^ Its funny how the crypto bros echo gold bugs in saying currency is worthless, meanwhile creating something totally worthless themselves
If tether turns out to be more of the same, which a lot of people suspect, then the crypto market will totally collapse
Keep in mind its not just gold, spx is up 4%, btc bounced 10% etc and yes the dollar has softened slightly to take its foot off everything's neck but still it doesn't make a ton of sense for people to be bullish on stocks or crypto
Is everything in the markets just big financial institutions bots auto-buying at certain signals? it seems that way
I watched a video yesterday that was very interesting highlighting that yield curves are saying the worst is still to come in the global financial system - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ass8jy0Z2lE&ab_channel=EurodollarUniversity
Well Nubi lets put it like this, if you looked at a snapshot of GGP as a company late 2020 and now in late 2022 and had to give one 8p value and the other 30p it would be a very easy choice which one looks more deserving
But as should now be obvious, momentum is more important than reality most of the time
From keeping the 5% to all the fantastic news today, all within a month, incredible
Really looking forward to seeing the growth and how this plays out over the next couple of years
She did feel eternal, feels very surreal
A quick passing at that age after being able to maintain most of her facilities into her 90s is a blessing
King Charles hey, again how surreal.
is more*
Living life into your 90s with almost full faculties intact in more than almost any of us can ask for
We all have to pass at some point, the only thing I wish for her is no suffering.
Its a funny share isnt it, when the 60m figure was announced it finally felt like a turning point and SP was on the way up.. but nope just another false dawn
If long term investors here are miserable and finally fully down in the dumps and starting to sell or consider selling maybe that is this signal we are at a bottom
I made the mistake of not selling when I should have in the 30s, i wont make the mistake of selling when I shouldn't do now at the (hopefully) bottom
^ There will be an operating mine before I consider selling so there will be a couple years of riding this out for me yet
Tbh I am looking for to it, I do love the story and the process and cant believe in 2 years SP wont be in the 20s at least - but that is just my guess and I shall wait to be proven wrong.
