Very slow day here today! Looking at the 4 trades so far I'm doubtful we'll see our usual late trade this afternoon.

Out of interest, which broker are you using? Seems strange that can't fill a small buy order. I use HSBC, never had a problem buying any stock if I'm willing to pay the price they quote me. If I set a limit on the price I want to pay, then sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't.

Kalan, yes, I agree. Its a supply and demand market, when demand exceeds supply the price will rise. At the moment it would seem that supply is greatly exceeding demand, which would ordinarily result in a fall, but its not at the moment. So I'm viewing it as positive that for a change the market mechanisms and behind the scenes deal making are working in our favour.

Some good news will generate more interest and volume, but as you say, we may not see a rise straight away. Once the supply filling these trades runs out, then we should hopefully be back to normal trading and going upwards, and heading towards a revaluation based on earnings and future growth.

Just getting back to the level we were at before we had any involvement with BMR would be a good starting point though.

Interesting,, that would also explain why so many trades are being flagged as 'single protected transaction'. All the ones you've added up are flagged the same way.

It does look more and more like it is a carefully controlled disposal of a lot of shares in order to avoid the SP suffering big falls. If this pattern stops when we hit about 31m shares in total, then we definitely have our answer on who the seller is!

I wonder if we'll see the quantity in these trades increase? Aside from the trades being everyday around the same time, there doesn't look to be any pattern for the volume being traded, and they are all pretty low amounts. If the theory about BMR being the seller is correct, this could carry on for months!

I don't see it as a problem. He's employed by us to do a job, and it's in our interests to have people employed that are competent, well connected and knowledgeable in their field. Erik being involved with other companies active on the North Slope can only be a benefit to us, as we'll benefit from the other experiences he'll have on other drills with the knowledge he accumulates on what works and doesn't work etc.

I guess Yukon is too much of an unknown quantity for many to get excited about at the moment. Once it becomes clearer what our plan is then that may change. Is it something that could create shareholder value in the short-medium term, or is it something that's going to be put on the back burner until after Icewine is fully explored/sold off?

Exxon partnering with a junior on the edge of our acreage is a very interesting development though. And our man in charge of drilling would look to be in a very good position to know what is under the ground in that area and what Exxon's wider intentions are.

Hopefully we'll start to get a clearer picture of what Yukon means to us during this quarter.

Would be great if we get some farm out news before then, but if not then at least we know we'll get an update at the end of the month covering progress so far on this and other the other projects.

lol. One things for sure, the share he is trying to ramp on here is one to avoid. Looks like its on a spike and he'll be selling that one fast while trying to draw in buyers for the shares he wants to off load.

That article reads like its just a rehash of various releases we've had about kabwe. So I think when it refers to debt funding, it means the money we originally proposed to lend the JV project company (Kabwe Operations) to bring kabwe online, which is then repayable to us before any profit share is distributed to us and BMR (now a royalty payment to BMR).

More than likely we're going to need oil for a long time to come. There seems to be too many contradictions with the environmental lobbyists/campaigners for enough significant progress to be made quickly.

I'm not sure most of them actually understand where electricity comes from, as they don't want nuclear power because it's bad, they don't want wind farms because they spoil views and birds might fly into them, large scale hydro normally involves building dams which are objected to, and we can't really rely on large scale solar power because there's not enough sunshine.

Coal gas yes, or rather town gas that was produced from coal. Although the major component of town gas was actually hydrogen, somewhere between 50-60% hydrogen.

Also a few trials are going on at the moment to start blending hydrogen into natural gas to reduce the CO2 impact, which may pave the way for the gas network being converted to 100% hydrogen one day. A long way off though, I think 2050 is the target.

Brom, the interesting thing about Hydrogen is that we do actually have the infrastructure in place to transport it all around the country, and even into most homes. Its the gas network, which was originally intended to carry hydrogen rather than north sea gas.

The problem remains though that the cost and energy to produce hydrogen is too great to make it a viable alternative to gas on that kind of scale at present.

rfarfa, if rover were experimenting with water powered engines it'd wouldn't be viable. For it to work, the water would have to be split into hydrogen and oxygen which then provide the fuel for the engine. It would require more energy to split the water than could be produced from the resulting fuel, so therefore a bit pointless.

Maybe through they had started to experiment with hydrogen fuel cells, which produce water as a byproduct, and I can see this is where a myth would have come from about a water powered engine.

Good point, while we're guessing at the seller, there's also a buyer.

If it's Quantock accumulating more, then they'll need just over 10.5m to get to a 4% holding and trigger another notification. So far we've seen just over 4m in these trades across 7 trading days, so another 6.5m to go.

But then if it is Quantock buying the BMR shares, why do it with one smallish trade each day at slightly different prices and not just buy the whole lot in one go?

Leads to the conclusion that it's either not BMR selling, or its not Quantock buying. Unless one or both parties want to hide what they're doing for as long as possible for some reason, and they're trying to disguise a much larger deal with a whole series of small trades.

Our SP didn't react much either when we announced we'd found another 1b barrels of conventional on 3D. Perhaps all it means is that the market wants more proof of oil than 3D results.

No doubt there'll come a point where the majority of cars being made and sold are no longer petrol/diesel, but that's still a long way off. Even longer till we see the majority of cars on the road not being petrol/diesel, this isn't years away, it's decades away. And then even longer still until all the planes & ships no longer need oil.

If the switch is going to be dominated by electric vehicles, then big increases in the generating capacities and power grids are going to have to be made. Again, a long way off.

But I suppose we could always build a load more gas power stations so everyone can drive around in their zero emission electric cars.
