The 2018 Decker report seems to be saying that other Nanushuk discoveries are in the lower part of the the formation. See page 18 onwards in particular:

Could it be there's nothing to worry about and its only confirmation of what other drills have found?

The depth mentioned today of between 4,460' and 4,530' corresponds with the depth of Nanushuk 5 shown in our Jan presentation.

The lower Nanushuk 4 is shown as approx 4,610' in the same presentation (Depth maps on page 13)

Looks an over reaction to me. Losing 25-30% of the MCap from initial results that aren't conclusive, and for one of our smaller prospects that doesn't represent anywhere near 25% of the potential does seem proportionate.

The only time I remember seeing any kind of breakdown for Winx is the Edison research note which suggested 60% in the Nanushuk. But it doesn't say how the remaining 40% is broken down.

Maybe. Last year interim's were released early March, but in previous years they've been towards the end of March.

Are we missing a potentially important fact from the RNS here?

Oil rises upwards from the source rocks over time, and accumulates in traps created by impermeable rock. The shallowest target had no oil. A little deeper at the second shallowest target there is some oil with weak to moderate shows.

Could this be an indication that the deeper traps have made an effective seal to stop the oil traveling upwards? If so, the deeper formations could end up being better than expected and counteract the poor shows at shallower depths.

I find it interesting that Otto haven't asked for a trading halt and haven't released this news yet, while both 88e and RMP have and released news to ASX after that market closed.

It must be something to do with the london listings and they believed the release was necessary in London, which doesn't effect Otto.

Can we then also take it that Otto must be expecting to release a single more comprehensive update on Monday covering all the Nanushuk Zones?

Seems to me that having asked for a trading halt on ASX they had no choice but to report this news in London, and before all the Nanushuk zones have been reached. Otherwise it could have been ramped up out of all proportion today with the belief that there's a significant oil discovery due to be announced.

When ASX trading resumes next week they will probably have the benefit of initial findings from all the Nanushuk zones, not just the top zone.

Re 8:23 - You're right on that. Theres two target zone's in the Nanushuk, the RNS refers to 'a zone'. The implication being that this is the top zone and the haven't reached the 2nd zone yet. So might be another update Monday for it.

Also Torok still in play which we should be reaching mid to late next week.

However, think its a reasonable assumption that the 400M estimate is going to be reduced once the final results are in, unless the Torok produces a major surprise.

I tend to agree, doesn't look very good from early results. Hopefully the Toruk formation will have better oil shows.

Strange Otto didn't have a trading halt. They did have a trading halt at the end of Jan for pretty much the same reason.

True, and also their share of a pipeline included. But a good indication of how COP view the north slope potential and what they’re willing to pay for it.

ConocoPhilips paid $400m in Feb 2018 for Anadarko's 22% non operating interest in their north slope acreage. This article suggests it was equivalent to $9 bbl at the time with 200m bbl estimated.

Around the same time as the Oil Search deal, and per barrel a lot more. Any reason why 88e don't talk about this one, but Oil Search is often mentioned?

A little sceptical about that tweet. Its a new account with very few followers that is mainly just churning out retweets of anything relevant to Alaska. Nothing to suggest that whoever's behind it has any info/sources of their own.

More likely than not that they haven't read the last RNS properly, misunderstood it, or just making it up assuming that oil shows will be reported soon.

Ecu, I don't really understand what you're saying/asking Jiddy. The conventional farmout that is underway is for 2.2B net to us at the moment, or approx. 2.9B gross overall. As far as we know the plan is for a farmout on the whole acreage not just part of it.
