Directors pay is commensurate with most companies in E & P, which in my own opinion is reward enough as they take not inconsiderable sums as a salary. The basis of yet another means of reward, by voting in share options at the more or less prevailing price, dated up to 7 yrs is not in the interests of the share holders.
Providing JOG keep Verbier and Directors stay with the company, the time horizon for annual salaries is reward enough. I could quote FPM and BLVN and even TRAP where the share price has rewarded no one in the last 5-8 years, but the wages continue to roll in.
I would much rather see Directors purchase shares themselves and have significant skin in the game, than lapping up the cream when circumstances come into play. Perhaps JOG will take note of shareholder lament - but I doubt it as once shares are placed they are disconnected from the day to day running of the Company.
I should add, I hold JOG shares and Director level is not unkown for me. GLA but be more than aware that Options, debt, rights issues without Pi involvement all come into play with the making of a company
