Agree read kind of negative like they made some mistake with trading costing some profits at least that's how i read it. Just sold what I bought yesterday for a small gain too as I didn't like the sound of that update.

I bet if BP was solely a USA company would be much higher. Look how nasty the deliveroo IPO got listing in the UK seems to be asking for trouble whilst listing in the US rewards donkey companies.

Also to add I'm no expert but back in Oct i was considering Aviva instead of these just because of the lack of love for oilies however insurers pose an unknown risk to me in terms of covid claims over the next 18 months they may be in for a shocker similar to banking ppi scandal come 2015. Again i didn't do any due diligence into aviva so i don't know how exposed they are were to covid. Long story short Aviva has gone up to where we all want bp to be short medium term.

I do find it weird though that we including shell haven't gone past the summer highs of July the financial positions of oil companies across the board is solid than ever. Obviously oil volatility is a risk but when has it never been? just doesn't make any sense to me meanwhile potential seems to equate to value these days ala Tesla recovering from the lows back to $700.

Hasn’t had an impact yet is it because most still on Easter break or is it the case the market simply doesn’t care cause of esg pressures lol. Mind boggling back before summer of 2020 this sort of rns would have added an instant 10%

They drop us before close and after hours oil rises USA has too much influence over our markets kind of fed up of it. Especially tech U.K. needs to start leading again.

Rather see debt reduced too and investment to weather crisis I.e diversify a bit. I think those assets they bought back in 2018 are expensive. Unless oil can go into a super cycle where it’s hitting 100-120 again I can’t see the value. There isn’t the demand for drill baby drill anymore consumers don’t want expensive petrol.

Maybe so but oil is about transport and the combustion engine. Not saying won’t exist in the future it’s just the way gov policy is the dependence is moving away. I’ve been a naysayer on it for a while in my head until you can refuel a car in a few mins electric won’t take off but now the tech is catching up.

Q1 isn’t going to be worse than last years q2 that we already know. Part of the price depression is the green agenda me thinks. Funds and pension pots alike not allowed to touch oil atm cause investors have “grown” a conscience. Doesn’t change the fact that investment in green means more mining of precious minerals to feed the green initiative. Put it this way the next few years mining profits will swell far superior to oil. If you didn’t know Shell hired Andrew Mackenzie from bhp who was instrumental in shifting bhp into the mining powerhouse it is today and offloading most their oil interests. I sense Shell will be moving into mining in the coming years more so than green. I do think BP have got their green strategy all wrong at the expense of profitability over the next decade.

It's all good I've got some aloe vera for that burn lol I'm still keen to wait but short term it just seems like one step forward two steps back definitely one that benefits traders I just don't have time to keep my eye on it every day at the moment.
