These days I don't for even a few seconds blame myself for my share investment choices.Why ? I'll tell you. My picks have been similar to Jibbo's VPF the last year though different companies.Miners and a few oils nothing really wrong with any of them.Your CNR,SSX and BAO types too which others here have but not me.Mostly quite good ones in AIM.From 2001-7 and during 2009-10 that choice would have given a storming success,but not in 2008 and 2011-12.I now regard all the time since 2008 as a bad slump with a kind of fool's time in between to tempt people in.It was never a proper bull market though.It didn't end in the typical "blow off top" yes they call it that lol! The one when your postman and dustbin collector give you share tips! Our problems were caused before 2007- 1. weak and loose government policy 2. unsustainable housing bubbles 3. easy credit 4. higher wages 5. huge loans 6. incompetent banks 7. toxic bonds 8. derivatives and ETF's 9. foolish politicians and other leaders It wasn't just not-Sir Fred- who was made the scapegoat to deflect criticism from others who kept quiet. It was all of us,each time we took a big loan or over flashed our credit cards.We will pay for this for many years including in our shares.But you can either keep those shares,hold in cash at zero interest or keep buying more shares.All quite risky.But that is it now.And the way it is going, it will be for a good while.So I'm not regretting those shares I was always going to have,it is a consequence of being here now in this time.

Now you're on a subject I know about-in contrast to what I know about shares as shown by FBT's comedy antics,I do specialise in these ATC-esque ones lol! Any German readers Biggles actually made friends with Erich later and he settled in London.Were they fans of the EU in later years ? Probably not.You can't solve that with eight 0.303's.

Cash is king,yes zero interest but available anytime for anything! This week the VPF will be decided as usual by who is least awful at investing lol.

CNE must be really puzzled at non-success finding oil, though the GEUS reports become vaguer further offshore while more definite in having oil near the edge of the Greenland coast.Though I belive no oil blocks were allowed on land,perhaps for environmental reasons.

well I told CNE to look at AEX;now Shell and others are after neighbours Cove there...

You can laugh but it is there! Believe.And if you haven't looked at the Reports yet.Your weekend homework then...loads of things on the net,type GEUS,oil,Melville Bay etc.

My joking apart-my Tues 0906 post and others about GEUS Danish geologists surveys since the 60's I accept as proving oil is in Melville Bay where CNE have at least 3 large blocks.RRR got iron ore where GEUS said it would be so why should not CNE find oil where GEUS said it would also be ? Iron of course is far easier to detect using electronic magnetic scanners.Yes obviously I'm not a geologist but I can read these many reports-google Greenland Oil Melville Bay GEUS or whatever to see!

Seriously for a change. CNE has the Pitu oil prospecting block in Melville Bay with a 56.8% interest(source the CNE website).This block is 500km from where RRR are drilling now for iron ore in the area east of Kap York on the north of Melville Bay.Pitu is also 100km or less from the shore of Melville Bay.Anyone reading the previous two posts it was just my silly delusions lol.

imagine in that case CNE would take over RRR,only about £25m needed.Call it Cairn Rock or Red Cairn ?

well I got tempted to Ramp RRR again,sorry! Wouldn't it be great if they found the oil in Greenland that CNE couldn't find ?

Over on iii for Red Rock Resources is a post from Spartacus_1 about possible oil in the exploration zone RRR are looking at just now.I posted on that a few months ago here.I am not Spartacus_1 either.The Danish GEUS reports did mention that.One of the oil blocks of CNE in the area offshore is not far from that in Melville Bay.Could it be CNE have just missed the oil by a few km. ? RRR are prospecting for iron ore on the land beside the Bay.

CNE should look at AEX not just because I've got it-the E.African area is looking good while SP's fall steeply.

RRR back now in Greenland exploring the iron ore beds around Melville Bugt ?

About now RRR will be beginning their second year of exploration-all paid for and building on the excellent reports of last year.

At last a debate on CNE instead of whatever that VPF might be lol! Does that stand for Very Pathetic Fun ? Anyway, are you sure getting a 1:10 share issue means your shares are worth 10x more ? Was the SP not lowered accordingly ?-hope you're right though. 1. Greenland isn't a duster- yet,it is a huge area in the words of the boss several times larger than the N.Sea,it might take years more to explore though can CNE afford the funds ? 2. You correctly say there are lots of other prospects though a report said CNE have no wholly owned production any more of their own.Oil recently was a lot cheaper too.

yes that is it until these go up you have really only got your own money back.When I did that in the past it took about a year in good times it might be longer now.I think I was correct avoiding getting involved though CNE is still a good company the CEO has damaged part of his reputation recently sorry to say.

I take it that similar to myself you are holding on to your shares in R/L ?
