Coburg according to a poster on iii on the AFE thread have the option to take up AFE shares at 6.8p (!!) up till 10.2.16..which suggests- 1. an anticipated continuing life of AFE of at least 2.5 years 2. a AFE SP of over 27 times the present SP by then ! Again guessing- this points to II's foreknowledge of actions coming ?

NC is in there too,with two previous successful deals already elsewhere.

MP holds a large stack of AFE shares too as ex Managing Director there.

you may not realise how much respect CGG will get from having the founder of AFE on board ,MP of course.

thanks yes I see that,also CGG is up now 47% so the market seems to think this was a good move,it MIGHT also encourage AFE investors to believe/dream that a deal with a buyer might come ? My guess again of course. And CGG must have more backing than the published present low MCap.

it seems it was costs of about $1300 in early June but they will cut that back to $1100 using some reserves so that backs that idea.

On Yahoo the 19th July was the 209p base.The MACD is now rising slowly though negative.There had been a drop from 3rd June from 357p, 42%.Relative strength is still only 30% having been 10%

those miners which can extract gold at about $1100 not far from the industry standard will still get profits in this market.

Interesting whether it will return again to the 500p -520p range.If so it will make this a fairly predictable up/down share up near to 590p.

Anyway,it still seems a lot of risk to take on unless by pre knowledge they knew that negotiations had already begun before we heard anything at all. Certainly Coburn isn't now doing coffee/beverages with this.. A framework is emerging into view to provide hopeful things maybe within less than two months... Again it won't be amazingly cash rich for AFE but it could be survival or a bit better with possibly a few of the well known faces ?

traders selling yes.Back down near the base again.Some smaller goldminers OMI/AVM etc. doing better. Anyway I said on Wed. this charting area is only about 40% of the 200 day moving average, so further downside should be limited with gold still up from a few weeks ago and still fair profits at these levels at ABG's present costs per oz. gold.The balance sheet should be reasonable on the next update.

not sure about that,if you own 10% of a company that's getting 10% of a project,are you not getting 1% of the project ? It's a box within another box ? Development costs will weigh on whoever accepts the project.As AFE wants to retain the 10% of Blackdown,essentially these costs will carry through that too.AFE say they want to keep the 10% until they deem it appropriate to release it.That still does not solve AFE's problem which is survival after 2 months.They will be an "investment company" that is all we know.Would they be forced to rapidly convert any windfall into cash therefore ? That could happen unless AFE quickly find new invetment directions which should not use up the limited cash left which needs allocated to covering expenses.This is still a rather problematic situation as cash has a habit of being used up in absence of any regular monthly income,the recent gut problem of most AIM miners without production.All as usual guesswork of course and nothing bad to anyone and all obviously trying their best in a difficult position these days.GL DYOR.

the reality even if a sale is acchieved it will be for 10% rather than 80% to AFE.And a deal must be done in the next 2 months,I wonder if they know it will be ? So the company won't be super rich but at least they would survive with a reasonable safety net,they'll need good people then like MP and EW were.
