That Saudi connection is fascinating, not least because of how critical it is for Saudi to reduce it's reliance on oil.
And this week there's a lead article in the Economist promoting the idea of microgrids using battery storage, as a means to increase access to electricity in the developing world, especially in Africa and the Indain sub-continent. The International Energy Agency, a forecaster, reckons mini-grids could account for $300bn of investment by 2030. The perfect storm seems to be getting stronger, unbelievably.
Now excuse me a moment while I fantasise about a bidding war between RSA, China and maybe the US...
