Newmont paid $1.5B for Miramar Mining for 10.7m oz (inferred & indicated). That's $140 per Oz. Wait for drilling to start at Anza. This should re-rate Solg style. Crazy low MCap speaks for itself and the massive Upside with only 146.8m shares in issue, 20% of which owned by Newmont already who want more.

The Fimiston Open Pit, colloquially known as 'The Super pit' is oblong in plan view and is approximately 3.5 kilometres long, 1.5 kilometres wide and over 600 meters deep. At these dimensions, it is large enough to be seen from space. The Super Pit, was Australia's largest open cut gold mine until 2016 when it was surpassed by the Newmont Boddington gold mine. The Super Pit is owned by Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd, a company owned 50:50 by Barrick Gold Corporation and Newmont Mining Corporation. The mine produces 850,000 ounces (28 tonnes) of gold per year, and employs around 550 employees directly on site.

Shelley, Agree. I would expect BOD to reject £150m as first Offer.....as being too low. Also will have to see where Spot Gold price is next year. those 10 broker forecasts for spot Gold prices next year.....range from $1350 to $1700 per Oz. Avg $1500 / oz

Would depend where price gets to after next set of drilling results. Unfortunately OMI share price was on the floor due to issues with Uruguay gold mine, when Newmont struck the deal taking full advantage of the low price. Unlike Continental where Newmont paid CAD$4 per share for similar 19.9% stake. Granted Buritica project had NPV $860m from their technical feasibility study, hence was at more advanced stage than Anza. It is obviously in the interest of Orosur BOD and shareholders to get share price as high as possible to reflect true value of Anza, before taking any low ball offers from Newmont say e.g. around £1 per share valuing OMI at just under £150m.

Got a strong feeling same 19.9% was used in OMI case, otherwise Newmont would have swallowed OMI for peanuts. Hence the way Newmont structured the deal using the "Earn-In" as one option. Don't think Newmont going to hang about and let OMI share price run too high. They have first refusal and most likely would be looking to Buy Out OMI much sooner. At least they will try to get OMI on the cheap.

Same as Continental Gold CEO said.....Newmont actually wanted bigger Equity stake while paying CAD$4 per share, but Continental restricted Newmont to 19.9% CEO comments were on these lines: ...If they OR any other Major wants to acquire us, then they need to pay for all the Upside.

Yep. Newmont clearly had to fight Off competition....from other parties.

Waiting for the next Gold Bull run that is coming. OMI with such low MCap would be one of the Hottest stock around.

Think next RNS must be close....going by the drop in the aftrnoon.

MMs typically try to mark it down before news to try and collect as many as they can.
