I think you're about right - costs are way up these days - its not just the security - it's legal, planning, HSE, EA... the list is endless

Alba owns a Gold Mine (and graphite mine and ...) which produce as much income as Brockham - not a lot . But the BoD continue to take a salary year in ,, year out

Joey - I'd steer well clear of Alba - look at their record - they have achieved absolutely nothing with any asset - they're even more of an AIM lifestyle company than UKOG - they were also associated with our large Australian friend IIRC

the problem is getting it out - it looks as if its not really possible with current technology given the events at Broadford Bridge and the ominous silence about the Kimm at HH1 after 2 years of intermittent testing. It might require a massive fraccing campaign - or even that might not be good enough - whatever it'll be far too late for UKOG and their shareholders

There was clearly a concerted pump late last week - all sorts of "new" posters - then they take their 10% gain Monday and burn the credulous again,,... and again... and again.....

I expect they'll eventually follow UKOG abroad - probably at the same time as they dump Balcombe as a project later this year when they are closer to monetarising SFB

As Explorer noted over on UKOG the Govt doesn't seem to be issuing any new licences onshore UK and in fact is tweaking the rules to make it easier for companies to dump acreage without completing their commitments.

That's not how it works unfortunately - you'd have to prove they deliberately and maliciously voted against the decision - and then you'd have to sue the individuals, not the Council. Just because they decided to do something you don't like isn't grounds for compensation.

As in Egdon's case though you might get your legal costs for any enquiry if it goes that far - and they only got the costs because , having kicked off the Planning Enquiry the Council then chose to give no evidence thus wasting everyone's time.

For appeals against a negative decision by councilors on traffic grounds 7$% were altered - but 26% were upheld - so its not a shoe-in. It almost certainly means a Planning Enquiry and that takes a year or more

I hate t o say it but I think Exploration is correct - there is no future for UKOG in the UK.

The "long term test" at HH has been running for over 2 years and we have no sign of a proper update, a future production forecast or even commissioning a CPR. Loxley and Areton will take 1-2 years before they are drilled and tested, A24, Broadford Bridge etc etc are dead

My issue isn't that they're off overseas it's that the record of UK small oilers doing that is abysmal - Northern, Europa, Midmar, Celtique ......................... all went overseas and then it was a long and painful decline

And don't we know it - the problem is that all the money raised here has been spent on 2 wells since HH was drilled - a vast amount has gone on salaries and bonuses every year -

Yes - in case you hit something unexpected for a start - you need to be able to flare anything that makes it to the surface. The only other alternative is to shut the well in immediately and that can be a bit fraught .
