GGR has been a liability for years & imo hasn't changed his spots. But now, people are on board who simply won't allow him to swan off and fritter needed capital on (possibly excellent) mineral prospects across the continent.

JTT & slowan, lots of share posters mention premium bonds in a disparaging sort of way, but imo they're a good place for first 50k of your capital. When asked they usually pay out in 10 days, full value, you just might have a big win. THEN you can do shares, as unforseen emergencies over £50k are rare.

As well as price, jdw have also made themselves attractive to customers with things other pubs & chains do less well: wide variety of products, (usually) prompt service, non-ripoff hot and soft drinks, selection of well-kept real ales, predictable food.
