RE: Re noble7 Jan 2019 03:21
I note that you have been highly selective with your quotes from the ICPR and conveniently forget about ''Discovery status''. When people do that,I sense that they have an agenda that is anything but to do with investment be it here or elsewhere.
Secret blue print do you live/work on the FI? I understand that FIG have been taking their time. Yet I see no policy directive that states that will not consider or reconsider O & G opportunities that may arise in the future. More so if improved technology can assist in the process, thereby reducing footprint.
I understand that Noble and partner have walked away, they seem to want to focus on other opportunities. i am waiting on the sidelines to judge if coming back in is worthwhile or not. I suspect the BOD are also considering options that have nothing to do with 'fishing'.
Gas was once regarded as a nothing. Now gas is regarded as a big something, not bigger than oil but LNG is a global product for a world hungry for more energy. Africa is a huge demand and China is keen to fund.
Approved development plans follow after proven commercial resources have been established. product to market tends to follow identification of such resources, example TAPS in Alaska was not a pre requisite to bookable reserves. TAPS followed. The same is now happening in that area for a GAS TAPS.
A huge amount of GAS is being shipped off the Australian Northwest Shelf. Once discovered the Supporting infrastructure follows, unless you have examples of where such bookable LNG reserves have been abandoned because there was not an approved development plan in place.
May I suggest, politely if you are going to use an ICPR to base your contrarian position then you need to stop editing out those parts that are too inconvenient. I say that as once it seen that such editing has taken place, the contrarian position is invalid.
I certainly buy into the BOD not being supportive of stakeholders as they should and need to be. Nothing to do with fishing. everything to do with not answering easy questions re bank balances.
For that reason I remain on the sidelines after selling out on announcement of Noble withdrawing. I will not question BOD honesty, integrity or assume mal intent, just because they did not answer me. I will await further guidance on how the FIG will wish to proceed with the O & G industry.
