Using the same methodology that I have always applied,..before,.. the past week saw 9 ships being serviced in the new Terminal. That is the highest since I have started recording, in mid-July, so it would appear that operations are slowly, but surely gearing up.

Agreed. But it is probably less of a turf war and more of a ‘scuffle’. It appears that not all concerned read or fully understood the operating agreement with MPS,.. and it’s a bit late to start moaning now after berths 1 and 2 have been constructed and are operational. It was in the agreement that MPS have the right to periodically re-negotiate the tariffs...

There will clearly be some job losses at the old port as some of the services migrate. The unions seemingly fail to acknowledge that there have also been hundreds of new jobs created…. and that the depth of the existing port and the existing facilities could not service the larger containers ships that will now be able to include the TEMA port on their itineraries.

With the third new berth due to be operational by end of Feb,.. this will resolves itself … and the MPS faculty will be held up as being a state of the art Port essential to Ghana’s growth. Before you know it the unions who are moaning now will will be patting themselves on the back telling us that none of this could have ever happened without their whole hearted support!

Because the TEU fee that you mention is set by the Port Operator,.. MPS and the authority GPHA.

h&n..... don't forget that a lot of last years large tech contract payment,.. about 40% from memory was deferred from the endow last year because of the shipping issues dec18,... so that revenue should be booked in this year accounts.

If the agreement of the revised Tariffs between MPS and the Port Authority, were indeed the last piece in the puzzle,.. and if this document is the outcome,... then to be in print it must have been agreed a few days ago etc.,.. and we must be very close to the contract signing, IMHO,...

Looks to me that the relevant container prices for handling,.. has increased fro 65 GHC$ to 76GHC? ie we are now at $15 per TEU.

Good find.--- ' around 40"..... looks a little on the high side---- I keep a daily log and I make it closer to 30.... either way it is the number of containers that is the driver of revenue,.. and if 65,000 is correct that is good news,... and would already suggest that on an annualised basis,... we will be close to the 1M/year... 'start-up' numbers---

I think GPHA own 30%.

He's already in the UK. Been staying at my gaff for a week. He's very generous,.. take us out for dinner every night thus week... and he had promised to paid us 20% interest on the £20KI leant his when he arrived,... up front... So I gave him £20k and right away I got £4 back!. Salt of the earth.

I think you will find that much of what you have outlined will come to fruition once they get this over the line.

He's talked the talk too many times and he can't really light the blue fuse paper with presentations to institutions etc., until it's in the bag and we have proper visibility on revenue. He clearly wants to get out there,.. the recent pro-active interviews show that,....

Fingers crossed we get TEMA and a renewal or extension to the Freetown contract soon. There gas been radio silence since the AGM, on a lot of other fronts too,... West Africa airport, Iran,.. the new UAE company,.. the Training Centre,... -- plenty of things to come.

Didn't start recording until mid way through July. If I remember correctly there were very few movements in the first week,.. I think that they used some ships for training. Look at the w/c 19th---The Jadrana was in dock for a total of 5 days..... as opposed to the usual 2 day turnaround.

We had that just recently too.... where we suspected on of the ships might have been delivering kit for the new berths,... ( cranes)....

Think it would be hard to extrapolate from the ship movements,...( in terms of containers being processed)..... other than the generalisation that I made,.. namely 25% more ships through Terminal 3 in the past month than in the previous month.

At least we know we are getting paid for these now!

Past 4 weeks- 31 ships....... 4 weeks prior to that 25 ships.... so circa 25% increase in turnaround.

We know what the rates for 2019 are, they are published. I would suggest that they are unlikely to go down..... and, as of yesterday's RNS,... we know that we are receiving payment now for services. We know that WSG are pleased with the outcome of the negotiation son our contract.

So chill.... and wait for the actual Contract news..... or trade or sell,... whatever comes naturally to you. The timing on that is out of our control. But now that it has been confirmed that we are receiving payment that is less of an issue.,,, and the longer that this goes on the more invaluable we become to each other. ( I mean WSG and MPS,... not you and me!)

It's not difficult to imagine how their work could might be broken down in to separate contracts,...--
Training, Scanning, Maintenance etc., ??

Aiming,.... just trying to underline the point that whilst MPS are saying they are fully operational,... it might be a while before we are actually processing 1M+ containers/annum. From my log of the ships being serviced at the new Terminal 3 I can see that they are servicing more,... over the past 3 weeks we are up about 15% on the previous. So whether that is down to more systems on the ground becoming operational.... or more staff being available ( ie our recruits).... or whether it is related to the number of containers per ship. We are just guessing,... however, on balance,.... you'd have to give some credence that as the systems bed-in,... you would expect the number of ships serviced to increase,.... and that appears to be happening.
Disappointed with the sp performance today. Expected that early 15% to hold...on a plus side,.. hopefully the purchasers will have sticky fingers and will be here until the contract land at the very least,..... and the poor liquidity in the stock should make for a very steep, fast rise when it comes.
