With respect, Kee, they can't be specific on timing for a number of reason,. not least of which is that they aren't in ultimate control of the process.
We know that the scope of the works has been changed, we know that we are now involved in training and scanning and we know that we have been 'appointed. Under quite what basis we don't know. --- the best guidance we have at present is that they believe all contracts will be signed by the end of Q3.... so another 3 or 4 weeks.

Certainly feels as if there might be some movement soon,.... since Macron has been trying to force the issue,....-- not sure whether WSG would want to pursue it in the short term given the highly volatility nature of the geo-politics,... but any movement on that from must still be seen as positive for the long term.

What are your thoughts,..do you think the drip feed seller is pretty much done?
It feels as if we have settled in the 9-10 rangeland the MM's are happy to pick up what they can get at this level sub-nom..... but with a bit of buying pressure it could move back to the 12-15p range even before any news.... especially as the end of Q3 timescale is ticking down.

It's quite possible that Smiths were also employed quite late in the day in terms of the product/contract delivery,..hence not all scanners from on-site or fully operational from day 1,... and it is equally possible that the opening/launch date, of end June/Julu... was driven by political factors rather than whether they actually ready on-site. Many many factors are in play and we can only speculate. What we do know,.. is the end of September is now the date in focus,.... to be fully operational and for contracts to be signed.

So about 4 weeks.

... and in the meantime news from many other projects/initiatives might be close. We might even sell a boat!

"...the Scanport-Westminster partnership is the sole appointed contractor for scanning operations at the new port and has established a full scanning operation both at the primary scanning stations at the import and export gates and also secondary screening services at the intensive search area for physical inspections; in total employing around 50 personnel with another 124 applicants undertaking induction and x-ray training by Westminster specialists."

So they have indicated that we ( Scanport/WSG) will have about 170 staff on the ground once the training of the 124, is complete. That was in the update of 17th July,... and training was obviously underway at that stage,.. and since then a further 5 weeks have passed.--- with the new Port to be fully operational,.. which clearly implies all scanners will be installed and working ,... the end of September,... then that would appear to all make sense in terms of the times lines and kit installation.

In the meantime,... the existing operations have serviced 8 ships in the past week,.... which is the first step up from the 6 and 7 ships previously recorded over the past 5 weeks.

As you have difficulty in justifying your own calculation,... I have helped you. See below.

Assuming 1,5M TEU'S .....per annum,... which is less than half of the expected throughput for the Port once the expansion is completed at year end 2020...
..then
1.5M x 13$ ( price per container based upon Tema current Port tariffs)=£10.40 per container screening charge.
WSG on record as saying majority of fee will go to them. Assume, say 66%,. ie two thirds... so £6.76/ container= £10.140 M year.... at 53% profit( as per typical contracts)= £5.374M
Put that on a P/E of 10 and divide by circa 145m shares in issue and that works out at circa 70p/share.
Add in existing business,.. and you can easily get to 80p.

I just go on to marine traffic everyday and log what ships are in and out and take a look at their size etc.,--- I believe that the MPS site has a page where you can see the expected due dates also, but I don't use that. Quite often the next ship in is hovering outside the Port for a while,.. even a day or two.--- doesn't appear to be a way of differentiating between the old and new port... some are flagged as GTEM and others TEMA.... which I initially thought was the clue,.. but having watched them that doesn't appear to be the case.
