Despite my very limited knowledge of share dealing in general I'm still convinced the volatility in this SP is all down to manipulation from profit takers and short sellers, just a constant cycle of pump and dump, rinse and repeat. The fact is online shopping is expanding exponentially and RM is the still the biggest player in the parcels market and a solid, cash generative business... there is no fundamental business reason at all to account for a 20% drop in this SP in only a matter of weeks.

Re GDPR As far as I can see it will have minimal impact and could actually lead to MORE junk mail in the form of unaddressed items, which are cheaper and easier for RM to process and deliver.... the usual laws of unintended consequences.

For the those who have experience of the wider market in general... is there a more erratic and unpredictable share out there than RMG? Especially one that has such dramatic rises and falls with seemingly no apparent reason or justification? Most shares seem to have a steady and at least partly predictable trajectory (barring unexpected good or bad news) but this SP just seems to be all over the place.

As part of the recent agreement there will be changes to the pipeline, mainly in the form of later acceptance times at Mail Centres, this should hugely increase RM's ability to offer next day delivery in the parcels market and should have a very big (positive) impact on the SP... But I'm betting it won't.

I don't think it is anything to do with the fundamentals of RMG or the wider industry as a whole... I think the volatility in this SP is more a case of funds and traders constantly manipulating the price up and down to keep buying in and out and in again, for regular, short term profit taking. (But I probably don't know what I'm talking about!)

I'm certainly not defending Moya but what she said (and the results in general) were in no way a justifiable cause for yet another dramatic drop in this SP... I've seen companies issue profits warnings before now and their SP hasn't reacted as badly as this one has to a set of perfectly acceptable and steady trading figures.

Agreed that middle management needs to be cut, but the last I heard RM were actually looking to recruit hundreds of additional managers, which just seems utterly bizarre, we're already over run with managers and lino's.

Actually I've never included my free shares when calculating my buy in price, if I do include them it's down to about 294p!

Yes we were limited to 3030 but I had a couple of colleagues who I would have trusted to buy some additional shares through, shame I didn't!

I think there are going to be a few slightly disappointed people hoping for a big jump post results... ''trade on the rumour, not on the news'' really does seem to apply to RMG, even when good results are posted it rarely results in a big rise with this SP.

Considering RM claim to ''lose money on every letter delivered'' I hardly think a decline in letters represents a problem for them! Parcels is where it's at, both in the UK and abroad with GLS.

I think it's been a case of RM has done ok in spite of Moya rather than because of her.

To be fair he has got a point (I think!?)... just this week I've delivered bottled water, dog biscuits, dishwasher tabs, toothpaste and coffee... and not even in big bulk purchase sizes, just ordinary size packs that you can get from your corner shop! Quite bizarre.

Can't really shed any light on your issue, all I would say is try being a RM employee and having to deal with their HR department, incompetent buffoons doesn't even come close to describing them

Can confirm it's the same in My D.O. Pkts at Christmas traffic levels. It's a wonder there are any High street retailers still going at all!
