Quite a sobering statement from RM in the Guardian, personally I think the team at Synairgen have been a credit to themselves. Even in the market their was no leak from them. SP went from 36p on the Friday close to a high of 2.40p on Monday.
āImagine if we had done this work five years earlier, this drug could have been stockpiled by governments,ā Marsden said. āAnd, when coronavirus emerged in Wuhan we could have given this to all healthcare workers and anyone exposed on cruise ships or elsewhere.ā
From the Guardian article
Love it! RM:
He said it was difficult to work out how valuable the drug might be, but it could help restart more normal working conditions. āWhat is the economic impact of this virus in the world? If a drug is as effective as this data suggests it might be, this drug could be very valuable indeed,ā he said. āEveryone uses the word āunprecedentedā. We need a more powerful word than that.ā
Iād like to go back in a time machine and buy more at 36p :). What a great week. Seemed a long time coming but got there in the end. Looking forward to COPD results in August and further news on expedited approvals. No guarantee they will get them of course but all potential news stories. Not forgetting a possible tie up with a big pharma. Exciting times. Have a good weekend all.
I can echo that Oil. Part of the fun was overcoming the doubt that plenty were sowing. This will never go back to 80p, SNG need better PR, why are they hiding COPD results, why did AZN back out, or in Punits case just why?:). Once all that was blown away and the share price rocketed it felt a bit like the āonly fools and horsesā moment when Dell realised what drove him was the chase and having become a rich man what was their left?. (Iām not rich) Having said that their is still a lot to come in this share as regards SP imo. It could be a trading share now as the worlds eyes are on us and bigger money is in the stock now. Day traders love volume. However, like before, you run the risk of being caught out if further news lands. Just do what you are comfortable with.
Iām still here too!. This still has a long way to go imo. I cannot believe this will not get expedited approvals. Tolerance of INF B1a is well established. With the need currently I think it would be a major faux pas of our government if they let other Health jurisdictions grant expedited approvals and sit on their hands themselves. Not sure BOJO would want those headlines.
Plenty of advice on here about what SNG should do next and doubting them. I think they all deserve a pat on the back for delivering a decent trial and great results. Not too sure what some members of the press were expecting on a trial that was conceived and completed in four months. Iām confident in the likes of Holgate, Marsden and Wilkinson to deliver a top class drug.
Degsy, they already have. AZN have a presence at University hospital Southampton. Indeed they struck up an old relationship with Prof Tom Wilkinson prior to SG016 starting. They have been plenty close enough if they are interested, which Iām sure they are. Iām sure they wonāt want to echo Chelsea and let Mo Salah go for a pittance, only to become a world beater at Liverpool.:)
I did wonder if they may try to utilise the American market for home trials numbers. They could set up in Florida and probably fill their quota pretty quickly. Personally think licensing/takeover probability has greatly increased now so that in itself could answer the home trial problem with numbers. Hospital results were so much better than expected itās changed the prospects of SNG completely.
Itās better than that really as the injectable INF Beta 1a used for multiple sclerosis would by nature of injection create a bodily systemic reaction increasing side effects as the dosage would need to be higher to reach and create benefit for the worst affected parts of the body. The nebuliser directly targets the lungs where this virus festers. Also decreases cost of treatment as you do not need to have such a high dosage thus less interferon. Pharmaās must be knocking SNGās door down I would imagine.
Long term holders know enough about SNG and its Directors not to be dissuaded by a group of ambulance chasers who rock up on a Friday before the big event. The RNS restated what we already knew. Nothing is different. A drug that has good efficacy and a class team that will work to get this to market as soon as is humanly possible. No reason not to give this expedited approvals now. GLA.
I watched the webinar and the Q&Aās. My background is law and being used to interviewing and PR, my opinion was that Holgate, Marsden and Wilkinson came across well but they are not oily sleek PR people. I actually prefer that though. They most definately know their beans. The press seemed to want clarification/to trip them up on figures. My view was they didnāt get very far. Bit evasive on home trial numbers but then that backs up they are struggling to get numbers for that trial currently. This will change if the second wave hits or its farmed out abroad. Preliminary hospital results were beyond my expectations so bring on the other two treatment results and potential licensing/takeover news.
Thanks Woodstock and Orgs. Pleased for both of you too. Been a pleasure to have debated the SNG story with the regular posters on here over the last few months. One of the things that kept me going over the pandemic lockdown. Others too Sharesting, CW, Oil, RTN, Nolupus, Ghia, many others too you know who you are. Nice one and well done!.
