100% GROWTH??? IMPORTANT - READ THIS NOW!4 Sep 2020 10:03
Just reposting this from yesterday in case anyone missed it and also because upon further pondering after posting yesterday, I really think the upsurge in traffic is one of the best indicators we have that the sales figures are going to be through the roof and then some...and also, just so everyone knows, I'm invested to the tune of approx £150K as of today. Topped up yesterday on the back of these findings...
Hi all, I conducted a little research exercise this afternoon, delving into estimated traffic figures to the main boohoo websites (boo, plt, ng). Thought it might be interesting to get a comparative indication of traffic during May - July 19 compared with May - July 2020. I only concentrated on the UK, US and Aus.
According to the stats I studied, the figures all pretty much follow the same pattern for each geographical market, give or take a little.
I can't deny getting somewhat fired up by the finding and as soon as I thought I had enough supporting evidence I went straight ahead and bought another tranche this afternoon. Just couldn't resist and lucky for me it was on the dip.
Please bear in mind here that sales are largely driven by traffic and therefore , all things being equal, any increase in traffic should correlate directly to sales. Also, I'm only talking about organic traffic here, not paid for search. So, here goes...
I hope you're ready for this because if you know anything about web analytics, this is a fall of your chair revelation. In the main, it seems to me that the sites have seen an explosion in traffic between 100% more, and in some cases/territories/months, up to 200% and even 300% more traffic during this years period compared to last years. Now, I know a lot of this is down to lockdown and people having more time on their hands to browse. However, this increased browsing/traffic activity has resulted in record growth for other online retailers. Yet, none have anywhere near the social influencer dominance that Boo have.
So, the question is, can we translate those traffic increases into sales increases? May we be so bold? If last years traffic produced last years figures, what would double or treble the traffic do to the figures this year? What do you think?
In a nutshell, I would not be surprised in the slightest to see sales, hence growth, way surpass all previous expectations. I think we're going to see a lot of jaws dropping in total shock and awe at a set of figures that are literally going to blow the roof off!
