US higher premarket after Easter weekend, Dow jumps 200pts5 Apr 2021 12:29
Shares on the major stock market indexes in the United States traded with gains in the premarket on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average soaring 200 points.
The optimism among traders was prompted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics' report, which showed that nonfarm employment in the US jumped by 916,000 in March, far above the analysts' expectations.
The Dow Jones jumped 0.56% or 185 points at 4:15 am ET, minutes after having crossed the 200-point threshold. The Nasdaq 100 concurrently gained 0.21%, while the S&P 500 went up by 0.44%. The euro slid 0.10% compared to the dollar, selling for 1.17515 at 4:18 am ET.
