Antigen test looks for Covid 19
Antibody test looks for antibodies.

Its about what the test does not how the test is carried out. Its the difference between do you currently have the disease (ie you are at risk of illness and passing it on) or if you have had it (no longer contagious and developed some immunity)

Antigen likely to be a swab, antibody could be blood work via lab or point of care.

Antigen test = test to find the virus or a protein from it = do you currently have Covid-19
Anitbody test - test for antibodies = have you had Covid-19

When we get sick we develop antibodies to fight the illness. These remain in our bodies and help prevent future outbreaks of that illness or immunity.

It's generally not good when spreadex tr1. It will be a hedge against long leveraged positions. It means a large portion of stock is on leverage largely on gamble rather than investors. It can unwind pretty quickly from there.

This is about collaboration, relaxation of competitive edge and the industry working together to fight this virus. It is not a race to destroy competition. We also seem to be in the same position so must have our big news due.

Just look at PPE. Governments and private bodies can't get hold of it quick enough. The demand will always be bigger than supply.

OK so bring it down and it still looks very attractive. However, we are not working with Mologic on the rapid tests, its the UK consortium for rapid tests and Mologic for lab tests. I guess we could expect to compete on price. I would expect lab tests to be more profitable, but point of care tests to have bigger volumes and be in greater demand globally. All points to unlocking higher value.

Rapid tests - Government to order 50m units £10 each. Divide by 4 consortium partners 12.5m units = £125m revenues
Lab tests - Again expected to produce around 12.5m units per year. Assume also £10 per unit = £125m

So both products up and running could bring in annual revenue of £250m
For both products:

The market is there waiting for the product with buy orders ready to be placed.
The manufacturing capacity is there.
It just needs the green light from the PHE/NHS/WHO

Success in the UK will lead to opening of a wider market after up scale of production. 7.6bn global population. How many times could a negative test be repeated over time as new waves of the virus hit. There is plenty of legs in this.

Basically when the blueprints are finalised and they each take it back to their factories to be able to manufacture the same product to the same specification and standard knowing that it meets quality control to satisfy near 100% effectiveness.

The biggest killer of value with these type of stocks is time drifting, people moving on, and money running out in that time....

This is of national and global importance, survival of the human race and life as we know it. Fast track doesn't even come into it. 2 year's worth of news can come in a couple of weeks.

Managed to pick up a handful at 49 wish it was more. Expecting these to at least a bag within a week.

Just trying to get up to speed, this is how i see it....

Collaboration to develop a point of care lateral test which can be used at home, Government backed after existing antibody tests failed, set up new fund and consortium

Agreement with Mologic for separate initiative for lab based testing for patients samples sent from hospitals etc to be made in Littleport. Expect to manufacture 46,000 per day.

Independent University verified announced yesterday, waiting on PHE and NHS scotland validation which could follow any time.

So basically they have their finger in two pies, one with UK backed government consortium expected to be delivering 1m pinprick point of care tests by June and 50m thereafter, with a global market accessible once proven, plus manufacture of lab based tests which are waiting final validation and commercialisation.

i think on that point it says more for the speed of processing in US vs UK and perhaps they are a bit more front footed about dishing it out. Read something yesterday something like less that 1 in 5 of applications have been processed in UK.

Excellent, an unexpected bonus amongst unfortunate events, not often you get free money. This would be 2p plus had they just managed the loan better. It seems like they have better people in the business now. Just disappointed timing didn't allow me a top up at the lows.

Times have changed. From this day forward this is no longer the same company anymore. There is no point discussing the previous management or the previous failures. NUOG is just a balance sheet with an AIM listing and now a prospective RTO. Previous failures are written into the history books, many will be feeling the damage from it, we carry forward the balance sheet but at least now we will have a new company, a new vision, with a clear direction and plan, and not just a fantasy land of over optimistic dreams. Some may never see their investment back, but now is a time for closer and the next chapter.

I think unfortunately we are going to go through a period where a lot of good companies fail. This is a good company. Some big mistakes have been made with the management of their cash. The growth is mapped out for all to see. When sentiment comes back to markets, i still think a lot of industries will take some time to recover, but this business model can continue relatively on track. There will always still be capital out there but it will be a case of what fits the bill. Bio and pharma will be a relatively safe haven. If we were at a much earlier stage of revenues or pre revenues i would give it very little chance. This company will succeed IMO, as noted in the RNS it just depends on the capital structure after the funding. With this type of situation i would have expected if an equity issue was coming, it would have been done without this notice. They always have to give the worse case scenario.

It is concerning that they have updated the market with such a precise time stamp on cash running out to the week. But for the reasons above, i would put the chances of a favourable outcome higher than what i normally would with this type of notice. We know with sufficient working capital the company is worth 10x what it is today, as it was trading there before the notice of breaking covenants. We know that p&l breakeven is within sight.

Remember midcap would have done due diligence and be satisfied to make the loan in the first place. Restrictive covenants can easily be missed with this type of arrangement where growth is required and plans are ambitious. The delay in revenue growth is very short only a few months. The cash was sat in hand to repay the loan immediately so no real issue, if they were unable to do this then I would be concerned. If they hadn’t drawn down more than they needed they wouldn’t have failed the test, at least so early, perhaps a small delay to expansion plans would have enabled them to manage it. I see a favourable outcome here with an attractive business for equity and debt investors. It’s fair to criticise the handling of this and that they hadn’t built in more contingency to their use of cash, but I struggle to see it being too hard to rectify when operationally the business is moving along impressively.

On the opposing view you can always come up with some kind of conspiracy with the data breach, various II changing positions and the harsh drive down in sp. it’s a shame markets control good companies not the other way around. There’s always that fear factor that the market is going to squeeze the life out of a stock and someone will make a killing from a bargain basement placing, I just don’t see that here, there is so much substance and potential to this business it’s not like a pre revenue resource co. They do need funds but recapitalise is a broad term. I’d like to see an arrangement that enables them to maximise the potential of the various offerings long term.

The's a lot more to a broker's role in an AIM company than raising equity finance. They advise on corporate finance, and also will be involved with managing institutional investors dealings. My take on this is that they are looking for further institutional investors.
