CE-Mark means they are able to go ahead and start producing these lab tests. We can produce 46,000 per day.
Ongoing validations are being performed by Public Health England, NHS Scotland and in the Republic of Ireland. This will add to validity
Omega and Mologic will now finalise a longer-term supply agreement to commercialise this test which will be used on patient samples sent by hospitals or GPs for laboratory testing. News could land of commercial agreement any day, they wont want to hold off. There is talk of trials in Jersey this weekend.

There is a clear manufacturing pipeline of maybe 30m+ tests a year. There will always be a market.

I believe the 17.5m was from a number of early suppliers claiming to have a test. Then Oxford rejected them.

Now they are putting all their eggs in one basket working with them to get it right. The order will be much bigger. The 50m talked about is more likely. They will be able to sell as many as they can produce. Sold to Scotland first, England second, and ROW any surplus.

I think things have moved on since then. After being embarrassed talking about antibody tests and then having to send them back, i think they are waiting to be absolutely sure they have the right tests. For both the lab tests we will produce and the rapid tests, they are going to great lengths to get the requisite accuracy and independent approvals.

As i mentioned yesterday, timing wise the Government have have a specific window to get this sorted as they don't want to test too early as testing too early may give negatives in people who's antibodies are not yet built up so 1 month after the peak minimum is about right to start. But clearly there is urgency. So the can cant be kicked down the road but its about timing and quality.

GLR agree... and what about all the negative tests, next time the outbreak circulated probably next winter if not earlier, all those negative tests will need retesting... market is 7.8 Bn people, multiple tests.

The main point about the Abbott news is why do they say they are shipping them all over Europe???

If these were going to be the game changing tests for UK they wouldn’t be shipping them all over Europe they would be supplying several million to UK first.

But it’s obvious they are not. Omega/Mologic lab tests is coming.
We also know the government want the 50m rapid tests and have set a consortium up with government funding. The government are very specific about when they want these tests available. They don’t want them out too early as may give a false population. Also it seems to coincide with the availability of tracing apps.
We know both tests are just waiting for final confirmation it’s just a matter of time.

Regarding the Charity Gift, Mr Sneller operates at the very top in terms of fund managers or did as it appears he was due to retire this month. He obviously has accumulated significant wealth in for his fund and self through his investing methods.

His holding was worth £18m before the charity gift. My take on it is that he probably respects that he has made a huge gain on the back of a global pandemic where people are paying the ultimate price and most of us are locked up in homes and probably knowing with the other 17% he still has he stands to make a significant amount more. His donation is worth over £2m. It looks like he has a charitable foundation trust so it looks like this is something that is important to him so if you've made a huge gain why not bank some of it in your charitable foundation. Maybe coming up for retirement he wants a war chest in his fund to do some good with? Doesn't mean the shares have been sold and maybe he is thinking about his estate management.

Obviously you have to have it to give, but hats off to him as not everyone would have done this.

I wouldn't look too much into it for what it means for the stock, rather look at who he is and he still holds 17%

Those trades between 4pm and 4.30pm all buys about 150k, price ticks up every trade i was watching it tick up slightly someone wanted in before close.

Yes and they are our Rapid tests. May/Jun - means we need design freeze asap. There is also a strategic reason why may/jun works. Testing too early could miss out positive results. Antibodies may only show up to 28 days after infection so timing it 28 days after the rollover of the peak makes sense.
Our lab based tests though are likely to be up and running sooner, perhaps in days once the final approvals are granted.

In2Win_2017 - It isn't always like this! As mentioned earlier this is a unique one off market. Most things with anything Covid are up from 2 weeks ago so it might be down to luck with timing!!. Just be careful you can lose it and more much quickly than you make it. Normally there are 100s of shares equally as exciting if you read these boards and maybe 1-5 in a hundred might make you money if you are lucky.
Much better to answer your questions through research. Becoming someone that can answer questions rather than ask should be your goal, it will validate your investment decision. Anything you read on here you should validate elsewhere. It's good for picking things up but dont believe it until you go off and check it elsewhere.

Hardly going to set something like this up to deliver bad news or no news.

They have already said they are expecting more staff back in next week.

We have great urgency from the government.
