L&G selling out - look at the average returns these companies make per year in relation to there gain here. Then you will understand why they are selling now. Dont forget they were in pre coronavirus so they never would have expected such a gain so quickly.

Only appears interest is growing over the weekend. Looking forward to the market reopening. Its becoming more clear how important these antibody tests are every day. The news coming up from Abbott, Roche and all shows how desperate these big companies are to get involved because the opportunity and the market is so large. Rather be backing the government backed consortium.

As per Sir John Bell, the RTC are leading the world. Out Governments have or are starting satellite testing this week. There is no way they will not use their own tests. FDA emergency approval in US wouldn't fill me with confidence that a test is of the highest quality.

We have already scaled up our production. Make as many as you can, you will never sell as many as demand.

Covid lasts maybe 2-4 weeks max.... so the window to get an antigen test is 2-4 weeks max for those that have symptoms which is not everyone that has covid...

The window for an antibody test is from now until this goes away.

This is one of the reasons why i believe the anitbody opportunity is far greater than the antigen opportunity.

Rapid Test Consortium rapid tests to be made in Scotland where it has just been confirmed the lad has been expanded for immediate occupation.

Mologic lab tests to be made in Cambridge immediately

The key think is both products are into production. However many they make they will sell. The highest approval and sensitivity the more demand but demand is out there the market is so much bigger than what can be produced so no worries about selling whether it’s to government, private medical, companies or public via boots/amazon etc. The government originally wanted a product good enough to distribute via these channels. Sir John Bell comments should help clarify we are leaders

Just one important thing to point out...........

The expansion is of the Alva site up in Scotland. This is where we are manufacturing the Rapid Tests not the lab tests. It mentions commencing immediately. It is very important that the expansion and immediate start of the manufacturing process points to the rapid tests.

The Mologic Lab tests ate being made in Littleport, Cambridgeshire. I believe they can already produce 46k tests there. Below is what Mologic said, so we should already be manufacturing these or about to. Id expect the very minimum an update on this next week.

Agree Piper. Very tight lipped. And appears the news on the lab extension may have got them in a bit of hot water, i mean why wouldn't Omega want to announce this themselves? Colin King also letting slip he's expecting more staff to return next week.

Some highlights from the statement - note already moved in, speed of completion, initial orders

The project was worked on w/c 20th April, competed Friday 24th and 16 staff moved into the new packing area on Monday 27th.

The speed was required due to the ever-changing nature of the project and Coronavirus crisis.

Agree. I am certain there is a timing factor here in that the best time to start mass testing is 2-4 weeks past the peak, otherwise it may give misleading results. Surveillance testing starting so showing steps towards getting there.
I am sure they will want to ramp up production to stock pile as many tests as possible before they go out.... whats the point in announcing antibody tests and then saying we wont have enough ready for a good few weeks. We need to be making them now.

Well wasn't quite the day that it promised, mainly due to L&G offload it seems. At least they are half way to offloading pre next news would should help sustain further rise.

I'd expect more press coverage over the weekend.

Antibody testing to requisite quality in labs and point of car is time sensitive. The can simply cannot be kicked down the road. They are working long hours on this.

If news comes Monday morning we are in for a great day. If it doesn't it cant be far behind. Scotland start testing Wednesday. Rapid Tests need to get final approval and design freeze asap to meet end of may/start of june delivery

Time scale which we have been expected all along is:

Lab tests 5th May
Rapid tests End May/Early June.

Clearly these timeframes cannot slide

start 6th may? isnt this when we said we expect to be up and running for mologic lab tests?
