Here's the key.... certification system to be developed. i.e. the so what regarding result of a test.

The lab test prioritised for NHS and care workers. The reason for this is the "so what" is and always has been that we want and we need these people to be at work and we need them to feel safe, and if they know they have immunity that goes a long way to achieve that. It's not just about capacity, its because it fits the strategy.

If you start rolling out to mass market and Margaret from Bognor Regis tests positive and wants to go on her holiday or Joey from Dagenham is now demanding the gyms and the nightclubs are open, there needs to be a well thought out policy with this certification system.

There is more to this than having a test that works. You need production capacity to meet demand, which means production facility up-scaled, staff recruited and trained, distribution. They will never get to a position where they announce a test but then announce it will be months to come out as they can't make enough yet.

Secondly there is the "so what". What do the test results mean. The last thing they want is a government approved test out there without a clear message about what a negative or positive result means. It may well be that we are just not ready for the masses to take these tests yet because we are not yet at the right point in our strategy where we can guide whether a positive test gives more freedom. This could be a political nightmare.

Elon, how can the ship have sailed, I'm sure you understand this enough to know that is a ridiculous suggestion.

There are billions of people worldwide that want to know if they have had the corona virus and have immunity. So far the number of people that have had an antibody tests will be less than 0.01%. How can the ship have sailed? There is no approved mass market product out there.

These demands of news tomorrow etc are highly optimistic views led by those that want to make a quick buck and probably sell on news. Anyone that can't wait a couple of weeks for this is crazy, because you will wait a very long time for another opportunity like it.

In reality it doesn't matter if it happens tomorrow next week or the week after. The suggestion is that mass roll out will be ready for June which means if you follow that suggestion you would expect news by end of 2nd week of June latest. It's much better to have a wider window of when you expect news. One that fits in with the government's strategy, not one that fits with peoples desire to get rich overnight.

The RTC will be the game changer, its always been seen that way and nothing has changed.

No matter what your opinion of Cummings actions is, repeatedly asking questions that have been debated to death is a complete waste of time. Fair play for giving an answer and shutting them down as they have said they will not answer questions on it yet they still want to use their 30 seconds to have a dig about this.

UK have carried out only 3.5m corona virus tests so far, 74k on 24th. With RTC POC tests in theory you could do millions a day.
BJ wanted to get to 200k a day by the end of May. How are they going to get to 200k a day when only currently doing 74k? We say at the end of April how far they will go to meet their targets and tick a box.

Remember Abingdon Health are the lead in the consortium. One look at their twitter feed shows over the last 2 weeks the focus seems to have switched from the lateral flow tests to the software. Just take a long look at this, imagine how powerful this will be with integrated lateral flow POC tests feeding data into an app from a smart phone reader. Imagine how valuable this will be to Governments in the fight against this virus. It is amazing to be part of this consortium. They are not focused on offering a product just good enough to get approval and start selling it asap. This is a comprehensive fully integrated offering to the highest standard humanly possible.

End of May early June has been the message right over the last month or so. Test track and trace is expected to come in soon.

Further provisions for shops and other business to open soon. But the problem is confidence of people is low, fear is high. Testing will continue to be a key part of the battle. Various nations will come out of lockdown with varying degrees of success. We can only truly get back to normal when international borders and free travel open up, which requires consistent global standards to fight this virus. This will be years away IMO. Immunity is the only ticket to normality.

Squadra - anitigen test are all swab, testing bodily fluids. Viruses are spread in bodily fluids, enter through nose or mouth, with bodily fluids transporting it down your throat and into the lungs. Antigens are found in saliva not blood.

Antigen POC test is not finger prick it's saliva.

My view on Mologic is that they will sell to third world countries like they suggest in their press release.
The 98%/96% 14-21 days is for Rapid Point of Care professional use tests, not self test kits. I don't believe they have published numbers for the lateral flow tests and they are yet to receive approvals. I think they are behind the RTC and they are also likely to produce an inferior product. If their Professional Rapid Tests are 98%/96%, it's unlikely their lateral flow test will be superior to this.

These home antibody test kits could be the most important and most sold medical devices of a generation. These are unprecedented times in the modern era. The progress all of our scientists, biotechs are making is fantastic. Just look at the coverage inferior tests have had so far. I am very confident from what's going around with partners etc that RTC will achieve this gold standard test that they all so desperately want.

It might sound like the further relaxations are progress to tackling this virus, but we still have a very long way to go to get back to normality.

Let's not start guessing when news will come. It doesn't have to be news every Monday, news by the weekend for this to make us all a lot of money. It is time critical, so we now that its not far away, but trying to put a specific time on it is not ideal.

£1/£2 predictions. Don't focus on these round numbers just because they might be areas where you are comfortable or where you or others might think about selling. My suspicion is that they are further ahead than what has been communicated. So look out for further details or numbers and orders rather than just design freeze. In terms of valuation, through the book out the window as there will be a premium here. These tests will be produced in numbers far exceeding what ODX have ever produced purely due to the fact there has never been a product with demand like it. I dont like to put valuations on it before news, but look at other stocks, There is no product that is likely to trump this POC test, so we are not at risk of a better product reducing demand. Government backed, approved and recommended will be extremely valuable. No sunk r&d costs to recover. Increased capacity, likely funded by government grant.

The company has no debt, is cash flow positive and is making further develops in HIV and food tolerance products, which are also overdue further news. These POC tests are the catalyst to turn what is already a well run, growing, effective company into part of the backbone of the UKs diagnostics industry. IMO there is no other listed diagnostics company that can make the claims Omega can. Lucky for ODX shareholders really that the other 3 companies are all private. So many people are really under appreciating how much a big deal this is and are only concerned that they haven't quadrupled their investment in a couple of weeks.

Immunity passports mentioned tonight, heading that way.

Could that be one way of ensuring the government collect the data from home POC tests? You have to apply for immunity passport which will force you to log your result thus providing the government with the valuable data.

Not going to test care homes every week. If they are not going to do that people thinking they are going to allow mass events and travel to go ahead with POC swab testing on the way are far off IMO. It is so clear what the plan and the strategy is and that Omega are right at the heart of this, and the UK RTC are much further along than anyone gives credit for.

Some insight into why 25,000 shares might be relevant.... It may well be a capital gains tax saving strategy. You have to pay CGT on gains on share options.

Say strike price is 10p current price is 50p, 40p gain x 25,000 shares = 10k gain, which is below the CGT threshold
If the share price went to £1.50 they would make a gain of £25k, which would give them a £2.6k CGT bill if they sold at that price

However, for a £2.5k outlay now to exercise the options, you could bed and ISA those 25k shares, with no CGT as its under the allowance thus saving yourself the £2.6k tax bill if you sell at £1.50.

So a £2.5k outlay now would save £2.6k if your target price is £1.50. Why wouldn't you do it if you expected a material rise?

No surprise at all. As i said yesterday it shows the desperation to get into this space. The fact they sold out of an unsuitable unapproved product against government advice gives an indication of how much demand there will be when one does fit the bill comes available.

Just seen this. Not currently invested i reluctantly sold out at 0.7 to chase covid, i had planned on getting back in.

AIM at it's worst. Shows that however good the prospects of growth are cash is king and if you dont have any you cant get anywhere. Mistakes managing the loan are proving very costly with 90% value wiped out since the break of covenants. We will never know what's been going on behind the scenes but i am surprised they didnt managed to arrange alternate borrowings or renegotiate and the price of the placing is a complete joke.
I hope the company can now go on an achieve its potential, and it can recover some of the lost value.

I don't think there's anything unfair about what i've said. My opinion with reasons in response to someone suggesting AVCT is a better play, it clearly doesn't matter as you're 25% up today which is great. I hope both do well genuinely do, and as ive said many times my view is looking up at other valuations shows ODX potential and this is why i mention it, not to attack another stock.

Wolves - excellent good luck in both. Look as i've said i like the company and think its a potential star, just think value has got ahead of itself. Anyone invested is certainly having a better time there than here for now.

Yeah agree, if that materialises it will be huge. But currently there is no indication of mass events and travel getting anywhere near back to normal, i fail to see a mass testing before events such as football matches ever getting the green light. Imaging bringing 50,000 people together to test before entering a stadium. By the time they have been tested its probably too late. And flying, how do you propose bringing everyone to a testing place to carry out these tests? And what happens if someone catches Corona virus on the way to this test place, its too early to detect and then they get sick just after returning a negative test? There will be places where it is more appropriate, where it can be controlled, perhaps by corporations, perhaps entering workplace buildings, but you would have to test people every single day and the cost would be huge. I currently don't see this mass swab test as a route back to normal life or as part of the strategy. If that changes then yes the market is really that much bigger than where i currently see it. I may well be proven to be wrong but that's how i see it currently.

Regarding being a non starter, without trying to upset people by talking about another stock, Omega are likely much closer to market than Avct. Omega has a product backed and wanted by the government. Avct have a conceptual product which we have no idea if it will meet standards and how it can penetrate the market where availability of testing is already being massively increased and under used. When Omegas product is available every single person will want that test. With Avct mainly symptomatic people will want it, with R reducing, maybe less than 1% of the population.

The difference in the stock performance is due to one taking a silent approach until material news which is likely under highly confidential disclosure with the government, the other in my opinion is massively trying to oversell itself. Having a seller at any price has held back the share price here. Fact is people need their hand held every 5 minutes and for the company to rns every tiny step for them to continue to believe in the story. Omega wont and cant do that. So when news comes it will drive significant value. There is a little more uncertainty and hence risk with antibodies, but in turn that will be reflected in the rewards. One has had a presentation quoting widely misleading figures of total market potential, the other has an opportunity to sell itself in the coming months with annual results, and i am sure it will be based on facts not pipe dreams. I am more starting to smell a rat there. Maybe it will be the real deal, but its getting riskier at a price. For ODX we have had a plethora of clues of a positive outcome coming and once that happens there will be no stopping this.
