At the moment, the majority of people will test negative. But the virus will continue to spread. So if you test negative today and have no antibodies, how do you know your status over the next 12 months? Are you going to go and get blood drawn every other week? These lab tests are more expensive because of the lab process to carry out the procedure, then notify results. On the other hand if you had a home test and could test yourself at home once a month, you probably would, and because they don't require a lab technician to process, they will be much cheaper.
The percentage of people that have had the virus may be quite small at the moment, but the market is still huge because everyone will assume they are in the small positive percent unless they are told otherwise and they will continue to want to monitor this.

If the government wanted these tests kits why is the deal not done already? It's so urgent they are going to spend weeks/months negotiating??? Of course any company are going to go to the government and try to get sales. This is the companies creating the story, not the government. The one thing our government have learnt is that they must do all they can to secure supply of necessary equipment, tests, medicines, and part of that might be having back up plans, ensuring high volume. They will take swift action when they want something, you wont get reports saying they are interested you will hear confirmation of orders. Roche are just trying to boost interest and sales. We know our government want a reliable home test. That and nothing else will create the desired effect. Effective lab tests are back up plan, and they have several sources of these.

Our media are embarrassing.... they have created a lot of problems with mis reporting news. Criticising whichever decisions are or are not made.
Fed up hearing them ask the same questions over again at the daily briefings. Care homes, we all know how important they are and what the problems are, but 3 media representatives in a row asking the same questions, what's the point. Yesterday you had the housing secretary restarting the housing market which is a key baseline for the economy, yet the media when given the opportunity ask repeats of a question we must have heard over 50 times in these daily briefings. They don't even listen to the answer they just wait to have another pop afterwards.
I wouldn't rely on anything in the media to point you in the right direction.
Omega and the RTC will just go about their business. The value in antibody testing appears no longer up for debate. It's how to get the accuracy and the scale. Give it a couple more weeks.

End of May/June has been the consistent expected time for the POC tests. The race to get into this space shows how big an opportunity it is.

It's odd nobody mentioned that the Abbott tests are reported to fail in 50% of cases, i remember only a few days ago Abbott was the end of the RTC.

Its a small indication of how big a news story it will be when the UK RTC offers up home tests.

Volume although good has declined, and if L&G are still selling it's obvious the price will be brought down. The last holdings RNS was of their position as of 2 weeks ago, so surprising we haven't seen another yet. At the rate they were selling they would be below 3% now.

One of the things i have been keeping an eye on is the number of trades. Still not sure what to make of it but we have regularly hit 1500 trades per day and more. Its quite a high number for a stock this size.
As of time of writing we have 700 trades today. This is twice as much as NCYT, 50% more than AVCT. Volume is dropping but still clearly a lot of positions being taken and closed.
As i said, I don't really know what to make of it other than it still shows this stock is clearly on a lot of peoples radars and its clearly a good stock if you are a broker or market maker.

Elon... these mm tricks are more relevant to a larger us exchange as per the content implies. MM tricks in the much less regulated, low liquidity AIM market are much dirtier.

I wouldn't be thinking about things like football for a market for the product.

If 10 million of these tests went on Amazon today they would sell out before you know it. People are curious. Even if they are told only 5% of the population had it, they would all assume they have had it until proven otherwise. And they will assume they have it every time they cough or feel slightly unwell.

We have to be prepared for the possibility of there never being a vaccine. Both Antigen and anitbody testing will be with us for a long time and billions of these tests will be taken if they can be produced in those numbers. To achieve what would be considered the gold standard home test would be extremely valuable. Omega will likely do its prior year annual turnover in one month of producing these tests.

If you've loaded up at 55p average you've been in no longer than two weeks.... how can you be feeling the strain!!! Companies need time to deliver.

So much impatience around. The window for news is any time this month, people have been putting pressure on big news in the last week. It doesn't have to happen overnight to be a success. It is time critical as per government, national and global interest.
We have a fantastic company here. From what i can see of the junior diagnostics companies, the best run, with stable finances. We are already producing up to 46,000 tests a day for mologic, and i think that is largely lost on the market because people want to see another RNS related to it. We've just done a HIV contract for 500k units. We make that in just over 10 days for these Covid Lab tests, which shows how big a deal this is.
To be part of the RTC is a great achievement and commercial gold. To have a government backed product in development, where you are not incurring sunk R&D, with a guaranteed market and distribution channel to be able to sell as many as we can make. Scaled up production capacity, which I would expect has been paid for by the government.
People are getting nervous because others are coming out with other antibody tests. They are not a threat they are a compliment. They all want what we have which is to be in bed with the government. We are ahead of all these other companies. Look at all the clues out there, there are plenty. It's clear they are not going to put fluff rns's out and its clear it is of Government interest to keep the progress under wraps. We are part of something bigger here than just Omega. Take comfort from the fact they aren't trying to ramp up interest off of the tiniest of developments, as in my experience these are the ones that lack substance.
These Covid tests will generate significant revenues and free cash flows for years to come, but also this puts the UK diagnostics industry and Omega in particular on the map. We are right in the shop window.
Daily price movement can be frustrating, there is no fundamental reason for it. These markets grind you down and break your heart if you let them. You have to back the right stock and be patient. I am personally comfortable that whatever the price action, long term there is plenty of upside. I will add a significant top up end of next week, i wouldn't mind it at this price still.

Some of them are sells but looks to me like many more are buys.... if you dump into excel and sort by price you get a better idea from seeing the price of the trades.
