I accept that is does seem strange, but that’s what the report said.

It would allow the strange situation that as an owner of Russian crude, they could import it to use at home, and export more of their own crude.

However as we know they are currently deliberately not exporting all the crude they could.

Have been saying for a while the world is going mad.

Just was reading this and couldn’t help wandering if they could be the answer to BP and the Rosneft problem.

They don’t care what anyone else thinks.

Fed doing nothing still scares the oil markets enough for a small pull back in oil price.

We are only 6 trading days from end of quarter so oil price wise it’s been better than good.

Will we see rise in sp tomorrow when people start to have div to reinvest?

Crude oil prices moved higher today after the Energy Information Administration reported an inventory decline of 2.1 million barrels for the week to September 15.

In gasoline, the EIA estimated an inventory decline of 800,000 barrels for the week to September 15, with production averaging 9.7 million barrels daily.

This compared with an inventory build of 5.6 million barrels for the previous week, when production stood at an average 9.2 million bpd.

In middle distillates, the EIA reported an inventory draw of 2.9 million barrels for the week to September 15, with production averaging 4.8 million barrels daily.

This compared with an inventory increase of 3.9 million barrels for the previous week, when middle distillate production averaged 5 million barrels daily.

Energy policy is far too important to be left to politicians.

Fortunately despite the politicians the professionals in the big energy companies have done a great job so far.

I expect that to continue despite the politicians.

It just becomes a case of gaming the system for better returns.

The big companies always have the option to invest elsewhere.The smaller UK ones are currently in trouble.

Unfortunately us people who live in the UK will have to live with their very misunderstood version of how the energy system works.

If only the politicians could act as grown ups and get together to formulate a sensible policy.

Reason for the notification

Have been researching a bit on Murray Auchincloss.

There were comments on here about the fact he was in a relationship with another BP employee.

This was known to the board when he was originally hired as Chief Finance Officer.

Even more so her name has been repeatedly reported ( for some time) in RNS on this site as being

Person Closely Associated with Murray Auchincloss, chief financial officer.

This is in relation to share dealing eg in BP share match scheme.

I won’t put her name , but if you look at RNS on Director PDMR share dealings it’s easy to find her.

So very in the open and nothing like Bernard.

He seems an open smart guy, with a great attention to details.

And if he has been watching closely he will have learned from Bernard Looney all the things not to do.

I suspect it’s a function of dropping inventories in US particularly Cushing.

They used to also say the difference between the 2 was a measure of the risk in the world, but can’t remember if small difference was low risk or high risk.

Think this is good, it steadies the ship.

It shows we are already back to business as usual.

An has the bonus of pleasing the gender police.

Think she had the position purely on merit, so it’s just an extra positive.

Which is what I thought but happy to claim him as Scottish

So will it be a case of if sp keeps rising the job is his?

Because there are plenty of reasons it could.

Or as you say if he doesn’t do anything to “ scare the horses”

I hope if he does get it it’s because they have had a very good look at everyone else.

I do like his attention to detail , but have concerns about a financial person leading BP, as sometimes costs become too important ( think cost pressures was one of many causes of the oil spill)

As far as some investors on here are concerned (obviously not me) they bought an oil company at a high sp, then covid and div cut and strategic change has left them trapped.

Their main aim is a higher sp so they can sell.

So they dislike current strategy as it s the cause of them being trapped.

BP is the least valued of the main oilers.

Some of it may be due to strategy, some the debt built up after oil spill,some the div cut, some because we have to find $1 billion a year for oil spill payments.

I suspect many buy and hold investors will trim their holdings if we ever get to £6.
