I think it is a good sign that the figure being discussed hasn't been leaked or released. If the figure was rejected or talks were not going well then similar to last year someone would release the figure, most likely Wood to prop up their share price.

So although it is frustrating to be sitting here below 40p I think it is a good sign.

I doubt they could do much with that info. Surely Wood win contracts with their reputation and expertise?

That reputation can not be built overnight. The cheapest way is to buy the whole company
