Those are good questions. AIM seems destined to never make sense to anyone. Prior to covid, lvcg were on track with just bricklive to move into profit and if you look at the growth projections in the brokers notes their market cap would have been supported by actual profit. However, Lvcg has been battered by covid, and also suffers from poor sentiment as well as there being poor sentiment around the wider UK market. But at some point, especially when the numbers come out, that will change again. Very few aim companies fulfil their initial promise and move into not just revenue generating, but into profit.
You also have to be careful that financial statements are by definition backwards looking. The full year results will tell you what happened last year, not what is going to happen. Last year was dominated by covid which stopped events for almost 6 months. I am expecting them to have made a loss last year still, although I expect that loss to be much smaller than the year before.
Its the forward projections that are interesting. There is no financial guidance out, so it’s all got to be based on what the company are putting out and a bit of guesswork. There of course is where the opportunity is until that guidance is published later in the year.
You can go on the overall statements about costs of the business, which have been reduced for bricklive during covid. There have been some op costs additions for LCSE, but those are less than £300k a year. Then you have to work out what the revenue will be, so add 1800 days of bricklive at £1k a day, the cycling, formula E retainer this year (£350k) as well as future bricklive contract wins. Then add the bricklive touring which should generate circa £1m in revenue. Then there is the KPOP retainer and share of the ticket sales, which if both days are sold out will be more than £1m. All that gets you to IMO around break even for this year. Then add the merchandising, streaming and sponsorship of the kpopfest and you are well into profit for this year. And if they add another KPOP festival this year that will be another big tick up, as well as if they put on more bricklive live shows.
