RE: Drop6 Mar 2020 21:15
Mr Italian, the thrust of my argument was dangled like a carrot, rather than explained.
The drop in price seen in many sectors is clearly due adverse changes in their operating environment, ie people not doing things that contribute to revenue streams.
As alluded to elsewhere, this represents an opportunity for MVR as large gatherings at festivals and large venues may be prohibited which means that the affected artists will need to proactively seek to replace their revenue streams.
What better opportunity for MVR to promote small intimate events, be they gigs, plays or musicals that are performed in front of a small live audience whilst concurrently streamed to millions of consumers confined in their splendid isolation.
How else would an Elton John or a Queen replicate the income they might expect from a stadium tour ?
My post then drew attention to my, perhaps missguided, feeling that O2 are positioning themselves for something related to performance artists, afterall why would they choose the strap line "Headline act". Whilst it is obvious that Melody are but one of a number of music related offers/promotions that are available when you upgrade your phone/contract or subscribe to their their 'Priority' programme, it is equally obvious that their advert has a look and feel that fits perfectly to Melody, it could be a flight of fancy, but just suppose for a moment........
In essence I was suggesting, albeit obliquely, that the sp fall is over done as their potential revenue stream is not threatened to the same degree as the other sectors that I mentioned. Let's face it, what can British Airways do if people simply choose not to fly, or BP do if we stop driving our cars, the answer is nothing, they have no other significant revenue stream and no means in the short to medium term to find one - they are stuffed, so to speak.
My position is long, not short and my opinion is strong buy
