Sell or hold on ex dividend in light of current turmoil? I was intending on selling just before going ex dividend?

My personal opinion is that the likes of BP & RDSB are great trading shares rather than ones to hold onto for a long period of time. That’s unless oil was guaranteed to be above $100 for years to come

Well if oil continues to go up and things get worse in Middle East (i hope not), paying down debt with a higher oil price shouldn’t be an issue?

Q4 results and dividend also coming up for BP

Not sure what you are trying to say drift, yes oil spiked 3.5%, but RDSB is up 2.13%. The raw commodity is always going to move up more than the share stocks.
Also you do know that Q4 results and dividend coming up in next few weeks, OPEC+ oil cuts, US-China deal and now Middle East tensions. RDSB is only going to go up short to medium term.

well first of all we don't have blocks in Kanuku and secondly, if the sands were less than expected they can use the data to better calibrate future drills.

TLW have a £150m budget for drilling next year so plenty of headroom for a number of drills in Guyana, I'm sure Total will like to continue with the drilling in Orinduik
As for wildcatting, are you joking - Orinduik and the rest of the Guyana blocks are no longer wild cat drills - its a proven oil province and the more drills are undertaken, the better the calibration for future drills

Updated CPR to come, followed by drill schedule and possibly farm out of Namibia. The heavy oil at Jethro/ Joe - well the porosity and field dynamics looks like being the most unusual for a heavy oil field
