As I thought, you now have a quandary. Either you haven't really got a short (most likely as I don't believe you are sophisticated enough o know how to implement this), or you are using the very firms or instruments that you are decrying - I look forward to you trying to get out of that one!

Guessing the market direction given Brexit is an idiot's game, so not totally surprised to see you are playing it! However, one thing we can say for sure: if the market is as volatile as you're saying, this is fantastic news for IG - once again making your (supposed) short look totally moronic. I think the next trading statement is going to be pretty interesting! You really need to stop putting your family's money at risk when you don't know what you're doing - don't say I didn't try and help you!

Well, we've learned what happens to the share price when we get a bit of disappointing news. Thankfully it has recovered quickly, but we should consider what might occur if we get another bit of disappointment on one (or more) of the developments listed below. We'll see, but I certainly won't be scared to take a few profits at £60 (again). GLA!

Just bought a chunk more at £4. There is no stock specific bad news that I can see - just falling with the general malaise with no regard to the inherent growth in the business. I originally bought the stock at £1.60 with a rating of about 14x - it has been as high as 32x since. A t 16x earnings today, I'm very happy to buy more (and I'll keep doing so below £4).

...16x this years earnings now. Definitely back to good value!!

Nothing strange about the markets at all Sis. Classic end on business cycle behavior as the market worries about higher interest rates choking off growth and tipping us into the next recession. Add Brexit and £ uncertainties into the mix and a downward direction with high vol (on up and down days) is exactly what you would expect. Unless of course you have no idea about markets and how they interact with economics and the business cycle.

This is why I have some very profitable short spreadbets with IG.
