every aim oil company went nuts; all of em with daft mcaps in those good old days. BLVN, DES, RKH, EO, XEL etc now look all down the pan. DES was the classic one tho, anyone remember the oil to water fiasco
to invent would be classed as fraud, it clearly says that the admin will be investigating the directors, in my initial statement i said possibly which last time i looked does not imply fact.
running a pharma is expensive again i would think that any spend on chemicals etc will be very limited until the whole debarcle has ended and see what monies are left
30 mill from btk sale, 1.7 mill in bank which was 8.6 mill in march (last fund raising) ; thats a big spend over such a small time frame
10.3 mill possible pay back, that is in the rns
3.5 mill owed to LCC (been paid) but assume still needs to come off the balance sheet
1.7 mill (seems insane; hope im wrong on this)) so far to pay the admin
so that leaves approx 16 mill left, that wont last long
Matters requiring investigation
The Joint Administrators are required as part of their duties to establish what assets
the Companies own and to consider the way in which the Companies’ businesses have
been conducted. They are also required under the provisions of the Company
Directors Disqualification Act 1986 to report to the Secretary of State for Business,
Energy and Industrial Strategy on the conduct of the directors. If you have any
information or concerns regarding the way in which the Companies’ businesses have
been conducted, or have information regarding potential recoveries for the estate,
please contact us as soon as possible.
how do you suppose they are funding the research at the mo, the admin will not allow any money to be spent until all depts are paid. assume wages are still paid but buying chemicals/solvents etc will have stopped. would think those left are looking for new jobs, when the redundancies took place they managed to keep all the high end earners in the company
you have no choice but to wait for the admin to make its decision, the second rns made for bad reading, their will be very little money left once everyone take their share. not sure how anyone can take any positives from the two rns's, what was very eye watering was the possibility of investigating the ceo; shady stuff
so borrowed 2 mill now owe 3.5 mil quality business practice that; 40 mill dollars from btk (approx 30 mill gbp). possible 10 to 15 mill owed leaves nowt really :((
you miss my point, redx's game plan when they started up was to get decent compounds then sell them on; repeat the process they where never about getting compounds to phase 1 etc. the loan situation is an utter disgrace.
the whole ethos of the company was to discover possible drugs then sell them on to bigger pharma; rinse and repeat. however the bod got too big for their boots and lost sight of what the company was about. as a result 60% laid off to pursue this insane goal; think some of you on here need to do some research on how difficult and expensive it is to get a drug to FTIM (first time in man). Big pharma with all their resource dont often do it
each to their own, i know many scientists at az, what they have done is a backward step IMO. location does not change the quality of the science done. you may like cambridge as you live their but their is no denying house prices are outrageous and your infrastructure isn't fit for purpose. many have over an hour commute to get to work. the way az was alderley park was far superior to what they have now. last time i looked az was mainly oncology, the main cancer research centre was in manchester; not cambridge. the idea was to shake up the staff get rid of the dead wood (in the eyes of the board) however many that have gone because the idea of doing interviews for new jobs was a scary prospect so in my humble opinion some of the best staff stayed in the northwest and got jobs else where.
how about the waste of 100 of millions on a crazy move to cambridge to substandard labs, hot desking, sharing fume hoods, no sign of the new building and high rent cost on two labs over an hour apart. super progress :)) give those top men/women a high bonus its been well earned
thats just your opinion, imo if the old board had won they would have been even more arrogant and we would still be in the same situation. takes a long time to turn a super tanker round.
