Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Anyone else received an email from Turner Pope about this? Here's part of it:
By replying to this email to reserve your place at our forthcoming Investor Show, you will be automatically deemed as positively opting in to receive email and telephone communications regarding future Investor Shows or any other related TPI Products & Services.
It goes onto say I can unsubscribe from emails but says nothing about phone calls. I've replied saying as a shareholder I want to register and have no desire for any marketing follow up and so they won't be getting my phone number.
Thanks GB!
Did I hear correctly that the PFS will NOT include 2018 drill results?
Good to meet Noloss, gwm and others from this parish.
If I had to sum up where I think we are I won't be winning any prizes for insight:
We have 1.6mt (and counting) of High Grade Sulphide Nickel . Currently no bank or other lender/investor is willing to help us get it out of the ground and into market.
That's the bad news.
The good news from last night is that RY continues steadfast in his belief that we are well placed to help fill what he sees as a huge void looming in Nickel stocks. Not just any old laterite nickel either. The good stuff which WE have.
Only 38% of world Nickel supply is in sulphate form. RY said in time even more nickel would be used per battery because of its 'high energy density'.
He quoted analysts who predict N price of anywhere between $8-$12 a pound in time.
RY's own view and I quote: 'To fulfil N Sulphide demand, 1 Kun Manie deposit will be needed PER YEAR'
We were dazzled by stats as to the sheer amount of high grade N that will be needed to meet demand for EVs. '40 000 tonnes of N per 1m EVs' was one example.
RY showed us slides of the very steep curve of EV production. Later I asked Paul Mckay 'did he think AMC would be viable without the EV market?' He said 'Yes'.
Whilst the focus has shifted to EVs that was very encouraging.
At one point RY spoke of further exploration and asked himself a question 'Do we go for drill resource expansion? Are you mad?!!' This was an emphatic indicator that we have plenty of N already.
Both he and PM are bemused at the SP and the unwillingness of investors to come forward. Reading between the lines I think there have been some 'nearly deals' that didn't come off hence the cancellation of the media week.
Everyone and his dog seems confused that people are are not waking up to the falling worldwide stocks yet increasing demand. There appears no logic nor explanation. Jinchuan's smelter for example is working at 30% below capacity.
PM assured us that no other battery technology will be on stream for at least 15 years and that vast sums have already gone into Nickel based battery technology across the world.
The road is a sticking point as always. I asked if other users might help pay? RY said we would have to fund it but could charge a toll. He said in time the road's cost could be partly met if enough people used it. Imagine if someone else built the road and charged us. I think RY would be happy to pay quite a lot per truck!
gwm made a good point to PM about his own holdings. He only has 240k shares. I see Paul Gazzard only holds 101k. It seems very odd but perhaps their families have holdings???
All in all I feel more encouraged than if I hadn't attended. We watch and wait. Let's hope the market wakes up to the potential here. If I went last night as someone looking to buy shares for the first time I would definitely take a punt.
All the best.
Enjoyable evening. I took notes and will post some of them later today.
I’m here. Grey fleece
Who's attending?
I hope to. I also hope RY and his team pre-empt our questions which should be obvious.
Is the new phrase.
Suggests to me there are no investors and they're stuck with the prospect of going alone. RY says as much at 7.25.
'We want to ensure that the standard of the PFS meets with the expectations of the multiple intended audiences and therefore provides a more encompassing strategic long-term plan.
It is envisaged that the additional time spent on the PFS, in association with the strategic plan, will establish a valuable and more fully encompassing assessment of Kun-Manie in line with our corporate development plan and potential.'
3 times 'plan' is mentioned. What does this mean? Surely the plan was to reach PFS, then sell, or DFS, then sell.
It's all flannel to me.
I should add that it's 'scheduled' for 2019. That is not a guarantee.
Is an overused word to make something sound more important than it is. The more its repeated the more sceptical I become.
This is a reactionary RNS. A predictable announcement of a delay. The PR of AMC is very poor. They still say the dates for the media week in Septmber are being finalised. Incredibly amateurish not to update the website, be transparent and accountable.
I'm not too fussed about the delay as this is a very big project and delays are the norm. I'm more concerned that AMC are unable to be efficient in communication and basic admin.
Dyson's new electric car is edging closer to production, with the company confirming a new manufacturing facility will be built in Singapore and finished by 2020.

At some point Nickel Explorers will hopefully attract many suitors.
I'm a pre licence holder in AMC.
I recall RY speaking of the demand for Nickel in the use of Stainless Steel and other products. Suddenly (3 years ago??) he changed course, talked of EVs and he's never mentioned SS since.
My concern is twofold: 1) There is no shortage of Nickel for SS.
2) The demand for Nickel in EVs is unclear.
Many analysts suggest Nickel WILL be in great demand for EVs. However, which Nickel explorers are seeing their SP rise based on this perception?
I have no problem with AMC's horde of Nickel. I have a big problem with an apparent lack of need for more Nickel to enter the market.
I've written to the FAQs section requesting an update.
Under 'Events' it still says 'dates being finalised'.
Still waiting for mine..
(Barclays Stockbrokers)
Dunno why I'm so optimistic on a Monday morning but here goes...
The dates of significant announcements given to the media are being finalised!
Chairman of W, Michael Masterman commented:' La Parrilla is funded and under full project development. The project is on schedule and on budget and tungsten and tin production and sales are set to commence at large scale production levels and at low cost in 2019. Achievement of this objective will transform W Resources.'
Happy with that.
We can only hope that the MW is not a forum for investors, BUT a series of significant announcements given to the financial press alongside an RNS.
If that's the case there would be no need to give out dates.
It's Ford who used the word not RY judging by the quotation marks.
Fod has been true to his word at has done the number crunching re Ore to Nickel. The numbers look great.
I must say I had no idea one Tesla battery will contain 50kg of nickel?!!! Is that a typo???
